I always wanted to create a really giant, giant map for TFT, but I guess at the time the limitations were added due to technological limits which moved significantly since then.
In old WorldEditor there is a limit on the amount of Props as well. So those two limits should either be removed or changed.
Theyāve upped the max size twice now. I think the old, original limit was 256x256? You can roll up to 468x468 now.
Did they also increase the max amount of props?
468x468 is still small for RPG custom games. No harm in making it bigger.
This again is probably one of those they had to limit because old computersā memory limitations. So Iād imagine theyāll at least increase the unit and doodad limits a lot.
I donāt even think Iāve played on a 468x468 (granted itās 480x480, but the playable area is 468x468) but thereās always the trick for map editors of scaling units, structures, and movement speeds down so that you sort of ātrickā the map into feeling even bigger.

MAKE IT EVEN BIGGER! GIVE US HUGE MAPS!
ALSO LET US PUT WAY MORE UNITS/DOODADS!

Yeah they should support 4000x4000 or bigger. Who cares? Our machines will handle it no problem if the game is properly optimized.
Even old Age of Mythology editor allowed for absolutely massive maps.
I am excited too, but only if Blizzard makes changes like these. If itās just the same old game then the custom maps wonāt be much different either.
Totally agree on your Point. I have just got Warcraft 3 Reforged (really enjoying it so far!) and working on a map, Iāve not reaches a ālimitā yet and I have about 3000 doodads placed in my map at the moment. Iām gonna reach above 5000 and see if I hit a limit. Hopefully not gonna do that before 10000. Not rushing though but Iāll keep in mind to post the limit result if noone else does it beforehand.

Well I did place over 11000 doodads in a map Iām working on, and it seems to work just fine running it. Guess the limit is raised since Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne.
