Hi everyone,

World Editor is very difficult.
I wanted to play a custom map with a “new” race, the high elves.

I found a high elves map V 2.5 on hive, but it was for classic, and with Reforged not all the models are updated.

So far I managed to extract MDX files (CASCview) with high elven units and buildings, in order to modify the units of that map (replacing the classic ones with Reforged ones). How can I import these models again (since in the units palette there are only 4 races + Naga but not high/blood elves)? I found tutorials online… Use the “import manager” which no longer exists. I can only import unit settings now…

Use asset manager. With the world editor open, press f12. You click in file and then import file…

I managed to import it but still it’s very difficult to accomplish what I want.

I found another map called “blood elves reedited” on hive, that already has everything I wanted.
Is there an easy way to export everything apart from the map itself?
I mean, this map is using an ashenvale setting. If I wanted a Lordaeron setting or another (taken from Blizzard maps) and just “upload” the races from this blood elves map, is it possible?

Yeah, it’s possible you just need to open the object editor of the map and export all object data. With world editor open, you open the object editor, click file then click export all object data. Close the map, open your map, open object editor, click file, import all object data.

PS: eeerrh, man this is possible but to just copy and paste another people stuff isn’t right. You can do things on you own man, believe it. You can be inspired on your work on someone else stuff and do something similar or better but to just copy and paste someone else’s work for you to use It isn’t the way to do It. You should get a look at his stuff just to learn and do things on your own or at least use it as a base to build your own stuff upon It. In this world nothing is created everything is transformed, so don’t just copy, paste and use it man.
