How to play the last version before Reforged?

Can someone explain exactly how to download, install, and play the version of Warcraft 3 before the Reforged update? I think the latest patch was version 1.31.1 based on what this [website](https ://wow.gamepedia.com/Warcraft_III_patch_information) says.

I saw a post about installing the classic 1.27b version but that is 3 years old. And the cutscenes don’t work for me in that version.

You either have to buy or install the PTR of warcraft 3 - which is what I would do. I’d install the PTR, but I don’t know if the PTR is available for download without a CD key. What you should do is find this patch 1.31.1 and try searching for a download of it. If that doesn’t work try searching for a manual down of the PTR. WC3 is pretty old when it comes to games so I wish you luck!
