How to counter mass necromancer as NELF

Hello I played wc3 since 2002 really. I would say I am quite skilled. I have big issues with dreadlord mass necromancer with siege. They expand and build towers so I counter expand. I have total map control, better items and much higher hero level. 80/80 army. But he just roll over me I have no chance, even though in early game I killed his hero 2 times. This keep happing bad players can do this and even though I dominated the game I still lose. Wtf am I suppose to do, I had bears and dryads. I had wisps that I detonated to get his mana and skeletons, but to no avail there is just too many.

Win in the early game, dont let them get that powerful.

There are several things I recommend here - get a number of faerie dragons, a few druid of the talon (DoTs), dryads, bears or mountain giants. Set faerie dragons to use mana flare during battle. Each time the necromancers cast raise dead, they lose life from the mana flare spell.

If there is a large group of skeletons, use wisps to dispel as you described. Use faerie fire from the DoTs, and focus fire the necros. Your priority here is to take out the necromancers one at a time, while managing the raised dead. Raised dead is particularly strong vs. melee units and chimera can be used here as well.

Thank you, didn’t even think about faeire dragons, normally only used them when I had mass talons against orcs. Which I never do anymore because it sucks now.

I don’t think winning early is possible. I hate attacking undead base and they often tower up with this strategy. Instead I take full map controll and level over him. As I did, but despite big level advantage I still lose

2 mountain giants taunting between the mages and the warriors will waste time for like 20 minutes while you kill the heroes. at a certain point they’ll just be feeding you.

if you let him get to 80 food worth of necros lol…just go chims and hippos if it’s that late a game; there is nothing the ud can do vs that unless he’s going to ams the skellies

he can switch to gargs quickly but UD can always do that vs NE

fiends in with the necros don’t really work as there are too many skellies on the field for them to get in range well and the chims will outrange everything

dispel the cripples and curses and you’re fine

I do this too to elfs its pretty funny but I hit them at 50 food to avoid given them time to get a counter.

You should really try focusing down the wagons first then the necros as soon as you engage while keeping your key units alive. I tend to lose the fight if they manage to kill my wagons early because of the lack of corpses plus the wagons do alot of damage to most of the commonly used elf units like archers hunts dryads talons. You need to scout consistently and check for temples and slaughter house and prepare for it or go on the offensive with a timing hit when undead hits tier 2 to cancel those buildings to buy more time. Fearie dragons can work but mostly against novice players, when I see those units I turn of the statue auto cast and use all the mage skeletons to ff the fearie dragons until they dead. What you should really be afraid of is the people that bring their ghouls with them when attacking with this strat. Thats alot more difficult to stop at 50 food, if they only have necros and wagons thats more easier to handle if you do the above.

This guy has it right. Elf late game is not balanced, you must win early.

The problem is… you actually cannot fight in undead base. So there is no possibility to win, he can just camp and wait for necrowagons to be ready.
