I’m not sure if you’re telling me straight. Did blizzard spend 2+ years when all they did was outsource the graphics/models to a Chinese company. So what you’re telling me is that all Blizzard did was destroy the old client with terrible coders and was responsible launching the game?
I need an explanation.

They were not two years for me. why what they showed in 2018 was better than now.
so I would say that from 2018 to the beta open they did nothing.
Games are usually in development for a while before they are announced to the public, usually under codenames so that if details are somehow leaked, there isn’t anything significant revealed by the name being spoken of to the press. It varies from game title to game title, but generally speaking, games spend at least a year or two in early development, sometimes longer.
Take for example, World of Warcraft. Expansions for that MMO start being developed before the current one launches. Meaning that Shadowlands development started before the launch of Battle for Azeroth.
Oh and FYI, the company they outsourced to? Isn’t Chinese. It’s Malaysian.
