How do I set up hotkeys?

I want to play this game more, but is there a way to customize hotkeys?

Yes. Go to the “Options → Input” menu. From that menu, you can choose an automatic “Grid” hotkey option, or you could also choose to use a CustomKeys.txt file. For the file format, you can find examples online.

No one wants to edit text files. There are tools out there that do this task for you. Search for W3Champions hotkeys or use my program:

Use the Hotkey Editor from jcfields.
With predefined sets (QWER grid layout)

Well ok, in a rudimentary way yes, but that’s not fully what I meant.
I rather meant “advanced grid layout”. With repositioning the buttons of abilites (heroes and non-heroes) to QWER hotkeys AND grid position. See this program.

It’d be good someday if Blizzard could add hotkeys to inventorys that can be edited, or customize our hotkeys.
