I don’t understand why Blizzard makes new VO for all languages except english. They should have kept the old voice lines because in most cases the new voice acting is far inferior than before…

Well i though i would hear Laura Bailey as Jaina so i was willing to Change the language from german to english.
Kinda sad that all languages except Eng were changed.
But the new german VO are okayish. Not perfect, but some are superior from the old ones.
I’m 100% sure Russian VO has been changed due to un-canon translation errors of the previous Localization.
Like Grom Hellscream being Grom “The Bully” (Гром Задира)
Silver Moon became Silvergard
Blood elves - The Avengers
Spell Breaker - Witcher
Ironforge - The Iron Mountains
Mal’ganis - Malganus
Reforged Localization changed the names to their canon meaning and fixed those weird errors

I don’t know if the old german VO had such issues but in my opinion the old VO was awesome.
I think in some cases the new german VO is not as accurate as the old one.
For example Mountain King:
“Wartet bis Ihr mich im Einsatz seht” was replaced by “Wartet bis Ihr mich in Aktion seht” (Wait 'til you see me in action!). Both phrases have the same meaning but the old version sounds a lot better and was more accurate.
I assume that the new studio had no clue about the old VO otherwise I don’t understand why some things are so much worse than before…

Both вы и ты are the right translation,and both means you
But the word вы,ваша are using towards a stranger,or a person older or with higher status than you
Вы - A sign of respect to opponent’s status and person
While Ты are using towards a friend,a family member,or a stranger you don’t want to show respect at all
No offense but the Russian voice actor sounds like a generic Russian speaker. And it has minimal voice effects, just like WC3 Illidan. WoW voice acting is on editing steroids.
If you really want to give Illidan an oomph make some sample edits with the English voice files and perhaps you’ll convince all of us.

He’s voice is a lot deeper,have a bit of a vibrating/trembling voice effect (Like Anub’arak ) to show his demonic nature. He’s voice is powerful and smooth.
Original Warcraft III and WoW Burning Crusade is so bad,compare to this…A generic goofy elf.
Legion’s and Russian Illidans sounds a lot more badass
I love Illidan in both War3 and WoW. I don’t prefer any one of them over the other. Both are great. Both have to stay. I would have loved it if they actually rerecorded the lines with the new voice actor and gave us the option to switch (Which was the idea at the beginning).
Why you think Warcraft 3 version is good? It’s just…So weird…He sounds so goofy
I played the game when I was like 10 so I do have an emotional attachment to the voice of Illidan in War3. Maybe it is in fact goofy, but I don’t see it that way.
If you grow up with something you should look at it objectivly. I understand that - When I was a kid I was attached to every single voice in old russian VO,but growing up from 4 years to 19 I realized that these voices aren’t perfect and absolutely don’t fit the character

WoW voice actors (those that changed from WC3 to WoW) aside from Jaina’s and Sylvana’s suck arse…end of story. I much more prefer his original voice actor than the overly done evil voice he has in WoW.
Those of you who dont like original WC3 voice actors can suck it and not buy the game and stay playing your beloved MMO. WC3 community doesnt want your kind of WoW fanatics here. Im glad Blizzard stuck with the original voice cast after we WC3 fans complained about their plans to replace them. We got what we wanted, you didnt, deal with it.
Or play with your “superior” new Ruskie voice actors, no one here cares…

No, to me original voice actor of Illidan did great job he and Arthas are the two voices that under NO circumstances I would have wanted to be changed. Jaina and Sylvanas, why not, cause their new voice actors did great job in WoW, but voice actors of Arthas and Illidan are COMPLETELY sub-bar to original WC3 voice actors and thats what countless of other WC3 fans voiced back in 2018.
Also thats not racism, thats just how we call you Russians here in Finland. We even have a saying that might be interperted as racist where we use that Ruskie word, but the meaning of that is more of “Russians wont ever change/cannot be trusted” And thats 100% true when it comes down to your government…
Anyhow you got your new voice actors in Russian, I dont see what you have to complain about English voice actors…again most of WC3 community was QUITE clear about NOT wanting new voice actors back in 2018, so thats the end of that debate.
