I play Warcraft 3 Reforged in German and use a German keyboard (QWERTZ). I wanted to use the grid for the hotkeys. For the selection in the bottom left, Z is given as the hotkey, where the Y is located on the German keyboard.

Yes, grid layout is sadly useless because of this. Funnily enough, even Warcraft 2 remaster doesn’t have this issue and grid uses the correct hotkeys.

Had the same issue, found this old post and it fixed it.
Just a shame that they can’t handle the grid layout on another keyboard layout.
