Hippogryph does not comply with game canon

In Warcraft 3, the hippogriff has always been a cross between a crow and a horse. Something went wrong. Why was the raven replaced by a parrot? Where is the tail, where is the beak, where are the sparkling eyes?

What the hell is this…?

Is this the in-game Hippogryph unit…?

This does not look like the warcraft 3 Hippo and not even WoW hippo. What the hell…?

Perhaps the creation of the hippogriff is inspired by this.

But why didn’t you pay attention to the tail, beak, eyes?

P.s. I really wanted to see the gyrpogriff next to this option.

Haha, how does it fly with those comically small wings? Such a massive chest area, presumably to house the breast muscles needed for flight, and such tiny wings to go with it. Not to mention the droopy body positioning relative to the wings looks ridiculous. It must be flapping those things like a humming bird or bubble bee to stay airborne.

It’s wings are so far forward they appear to be attached to the base of it’s neck.

They are night elves not south american vacation elves lol.

Really though night elves are subtle, stealthy and have a habit of blending in.
These things blend like a scarlet macaw in a Douglas fir…

It just doesn’t bloody work.

Coloration aside, the overall shape is… fine save for the head (we’ll come back to that in a moment.)
The armor looks pretty neat and the wraps around the front legs are an interesting touch.

Now back to the head itself, those antlers are frigging majestic and the helm is fine but that beak is perhaps too much like an eagle and much less like the old raven aesthetic which I do take issue with.

Overall the realest gripe here is that they feel out of place.
That bit of yellow sticks out like a really sore thumb.

I love it. It looks good, and I don’t need absolute consistency as I understand this is a fantasy game. I mean, at this point, why not complain that orcs didn’t breed green wyverns to better suit their races?

Because it does not fit with the lore, which is the basement of this game.

It’s not about color (although it looks very bright and colorful). In the distinguishing features of these creatures. Everyone had a horse’s tail, why did he become a bird’s tail? If the wyvern had a hare tail drawn instead of a scorpion, would you like it? Shining eyes are a feature of all night elf units.

Well maybe I’d care if a dog had a cow’s head, but hippos or wyverns don’t exist for real so they can be whatever. I see Elves as a representation of the beauty and grace of nature so it works for me.

This game is not created from scratch. This is in the Warcraft universe, which, although fictional, has been around for 25 years.

Wow the hippogryph from WOW look like a garbage

You mean the hippogryph from Reforged?

It confused me reading what you said compared to what you linked

backing to school, ‘’ from wow ‘’ mean ‘’ from wow ‘’ and not reforged.

And you quoted the direct link to the Reforged picture, which is why it was confusing.

Forum have big problems, i didn’t do it and there is the ‘’ can’t allow link ‘’ too.
But you get confusing about everything so there is no news.

Very true, especially from non english speakers.

Maybe with 10,000 posts you can understand something in a forum, you can do it!
