HD Mode Disabled

I cannot enable HD mode. The button is visible in the options, but it is greyed out. I have tried changing hd=0 to hd=1. Blizzard please fix in your upcoming patch. Thanks.

What the hell is HD mode lol

Apparently it switches from the new models to the classic ones

Put hd=1 in war3preferences.txt at documents/ Warcraft 3 beta folder. Save it, set the file as read only if necessary.

I have tried this method, to no avail.

please post your dxdiag so that i can look at your hardware. you are not the first person to get trouble with HD mode.

based on my analysis, your hardware is too weak. you might be able to get HD to work if you replace your graphics card but, it will not work on your current hardware(graphics card is too weak). i suggest buying a new graphics card and if that does not help, you can upgrade your processor as well, possibly. it depends on wether you have 2 or a 3 socket.

I see…thanks for your time !

it switches from old to more than old…

We hope the previous realistic graphics of Blizzcon 2018 back! The beta of now are looking like the same Warcraft 3 but with new models and houses. This beta of now are looking old and strange, this are missing the Reforged graphics of 2018!! Please, we wanna the Realistic Hd Graphics of Blizzcon2018! <3

what do you mean by it switches from old to more than old…?

Graphics in the Beta aren’t finished yet! Just wait untill release date and ALL functions and settings will be avalible. Even the Ultra (2018) Graphics and Classic switch

remove that classic switch pls is a misstake like male dk

HD settings is based on hardware and will only work on compatible hardware.

you sure? I cant switch to old graphics as this option is locked to HD for me. Seems it doesnt based on hardware, but just disabled and not working atm.

You can run the game in reforged graphics, no doubt. I’ve saw reforged run in a notebook even weaker than that with an integrated graphics card and it ran 2x2 matches. Your graphic card surely can run that. After setting hd=1 in war3preferences.txt at documents/Warcraft 3 beta folder, set the file to read only giving it a right click → properties. After that open the reforged tab in battle.net app, click at options, go to game settings, there check to add command line command and type -graphicsapi OpenGL, click the done button. Start the game. It should work. In game put every video options to low or off, lower the resolution to something you can run, the lowest resolution won’t disapoint you man, i recommend it. You can change the -graphicsapi OpenGL command for -graphicsapi Direct3D11 or -glcore45, whatever suits you. Go testing.

Also clean your temp files. Windowskey + R, then type temp, do It again And type %temp%, again but type Prefetch, each time delete all files in these folders.

Switching from classic models to reforged models is “simple”. To play with reforged models, set hd=1 in war3preferences.txt at documents/Warcraft 3 beta folder. Save and start the game. If you have added a command line command like -graphicsapi Direct3D9 or -graphicsapi Direct3D10 your game will turn back to classic models, to avoid that use -graphicsapi Direct3D11 and above. -graphicsapi metal is for mac only. So to keep reforged models in your game put hd=1 in war3preferences.txt and remove the command line option from the game settings in reforged tab at battle.net app or keep the command line and type -graphicsapi Direct3D11, graphicsapi Direct3D12 or -graphicsapi OpenGL there. Again Direct3D10 or below will turn back your ingame models to classic.

Here, a picture of the command line option.

HD can not be disabled on a compatible system, nor can it be enabled on an incompatible system.
