what the hell are they doing to warcaraft 3?
idk, game is working fine here, I guess I’m just lucky…
Well if buying reforged makes the problems go away, then I’m glad I did it!
Enjoy your post report for the personal attacks. Keep it civilized next time
Those “next level incompetents” pushed out a SAME DAY hotfix for some of the big issues.
… Although they might still need to tell the game server that they made an update because Versus mode still thinks i’m out of date after patching lol
Ok perhaps i was underestimating the gravity of the situation on their side but let’s be realistic from our side it just didn’t seem like they cared much about compatibility issues or have done much testing prior to releasing the patch. However I was expecting I wouldn’t be able to play for the next few days so respect on fixing in the same day. I do acknowledge their good moves I just hold blizzard to a higher standard I guess.
To be fair I really totally understand people knee-jerk reacting to stuff like this, given Blizzard’s history especially with this game. But hopefully the quick response to these problems builds some good will.
I’m enjoying 2.0! Blizzard please make another campaign addition to WC3!
I’ll be honest bro, my perspective coming from the programming space is that this is pretty poor. Unless they we’re literally given a short space of time to develop this (given the way it was announced I’m sure this was planned for a while) it is their job to ensure the product they’re shipping is at least accessible. Bugs for obscure things within gameplay are understandable but being able to straight up not run the game or login is unacceptable. That being said at least they’re trying to make up with the shortfall with hotfixes. Overall though, a company their size should do better
Size means little. If anything the bigger something gets, the easier it gets to mess things up as more people on a project means more points of failiure. This is why spending stupidly huge amounts of money on a project isn’t a guarantee of success.
Even the biggest most famous games released these days do have issues, so I’m willing to cut slack for them as long as they are acknowledged and addressed.
When you’re a company this big you have the resources. It’s not about the money here, it’s mismanagement. A certain number of people would have been appointed to this project to make it happen. They even said themselves they dedicated a team to this war chest bundle thing. Considering this game already had issues where people couldn’t run the game they should have been a lot more careful.
Did you not read my post?
I literally just explained why having more resources doesn’t automatically mean more better.
Also the original reason why W3R failed was because the publisher Activision cut off those resources.
More staff does mean you can do more things, but it also creates management issues which are more oppertunities for things to go wrong. There’s such a thing as too big.
Edit, okay, this is a different thread from the one where I discussed this very same issue. So here, I’ll link it.
You’re making an excuse for mismanagement by saying the more people the worse it can be. That can be true I totally get it, but it doesn’t make it acceptable. I only say this because I’ve been in these environments, maybe I’m being harsh because I don’t do gaming I don’t know. All I do know is that when these things happen you put processes in place to make sure it stops. It sounds like it’s an ongoing thing at Blizzard.
It’s not an excuse, it’s just a fact. Many games over the years have been victimized by bloated teams.
I didn’t say it was acceptable either. It’s literally a warning. People talk about how Big Companies have so much resources and I’m just pointing out the fact that it doesn’t really mean that much.
Pointing out facts is not defending. Just putting the information out there so you can come to your own conclusions.
