Grom Hellscream REWORK

Hi, let’s discuss about Grommash(Grom) Hellscream. I am so excited to see what they will do with him in the Reforge because in W3 Grom is Blademaster but In lore, I don’t think he has ever been one. He is from Warsong Clan. Grom uses 2Handed Axe for a weapon and has Blademaster skills, moves, animations… What a logic…I think he was a Blademaster in WC3 purely because of gameplay limitations.
This is a change I will welcome. What do you think?

I don’t think they’re actually changing his gameplay. Arthas plays exactly like he did in War3.

Even HOTS has a vastly improved Paladin kit through Uther, they didn’t bring any of that gameplay over to Reforged. I see them just changing visuals, so at most we’ll get a beefier looking Grom who has his own animations.

He is not the blademaster in WC3. He used the same model that Axe in DotA used.

I don’t think it’s impossible if they gave him different abilities. They are after all revamping the campaign. I actually hope they gave him some abilities that made more sense. Like even Tauren Chieftain’s abilities, but the change War Stomp’s name and icon and instead of Reincarnation leave the Bladestorm.

Nop you are wrong, they will change animations and add new they say and do that with Peasant(edited: they get+1 attack aniamtion) if you listen… Yes, they can learn something from Hots if they wanna change something on heroes. But we don’t know anything for sure about gameplay, they say on Korean interview that they listen to Korean players and Korean players tell them to change visuals and everything just don’t change the gameplay…

Yeah it would be cool to see Arthas as a ret paladin and grom as an arms warrior but it won’t happen. And it shouldn’t.

I’m all for changes but this is just too much.

Edit: If it would be strictly a campaign thing why not? I welcome the change. But it shouldn’t carry to competitive

Yes, he is Blademaster in W3(check Grommash Hellscream gamepedia page and see)and logic are Arms Warrior. Dota is Dota no lore.

How would it be too much? Just change a few abilities. Though I think all the other campaign heroes are okay, and don’t really need any changes. Grom is an exception as he being a Blademaster just doesn’t make any sense.

There would be downsides to this.

  1. Making a completely new hero that is never used again save for 2 missions (4 if you count those where he’s controlled by the computer) would be a giant waste.

  2. Grom as a Blademaster adds the Blademaster hero to the campaign, and that’s a unique experience, that also introduces new players to the Blademaster’s kit.

All in all, I very much doubt that Grom’s kit will be different.

You know which hero would need change the most? Akama. Because he doesn’t even have a single unique ability. But he’s used in 1 (2) missions, and that’s even fewer.

On the other hand, Akama is literally the only new neutral hero I can think of.

Well, that argument has a point. But seriously, changing a few abilities is not a hard thing…

No, it’s not too much now is 2018/2019 no 2002 now they have the technology. They just correct the mistakes, you only play with Grom in 1 mission… And you don’t have him in PvP (he use the same kit as Samuro) they are just lazy then xD. Like you only play with him in 1 mission, why will they make unique kit…

It is. They did not even give new abilities to Naga casters (aside from Parasite). Even the Naga Royal Guard only has a reskinned Shock Wave. It seems like making new abilities is not something they did lightly.

They are making 14 different skins for the Paladin, a hero kit that would spark imagination in the Custom community would be fine IMO, and he could just use a different set of skills that already exists such as Akama. Crit, Bladestorm + 2 of your choice.

That’s my issue with the idea. If the campaign rellies in stuff such as Windwalk we can’t just change it (I don’t remember). But I honestly don’t think the formal introduction to the Blademaster will be such a loss, there is one mission with Rexxar if I remember correctly.

Bro you play as Samuro in many missions and thats the same Grom kit. Remembar that missions with Rexxar and others?

So they did give new abilities to them. Changing hero abilities in the World Editor takes 10 seconds, and then they just have to code into the engine AI so it knows how to use the ability, but that shouldn’t be too hard, since neutral hostiles know how to use most abilities if you just add them to a unit.

gona idmit i dont want a thick version of Grom becus it feels like grom have gone throuth alot in warcraft 3 with his thin model he been captured and on the run that meens less food for him to eat and shows how much experience he got when he come to azeroth
but i guess they can rename grom hellscream class name blademaster name to axemaster… or arm warrior that wont change much

I said he will get his own animations.

You then reply saying I’m wrong and he will get new animations. And then you start talking about Korean player interviews that say exactly the same thing I said.

I not sure what ‘wrong’ things you are talking about. Your entire response supports everything I said.

Look Grom is a copy of Samuro Blademaster from Burning Blade Clan. What is logic to Grom 2handed axe warrior have Wind Walk and BladeStorm(wtf maybe axestorm xD) they can remake Gromash and use him as new orc race hero.DO you watch cinematic when Thrall and Grom fight Mannoroth do you see somewhere Wind Walk or bladestorm. Thrall uses his hammer skill but do you see Grom using?
