Played a lot of brood war and sc2 and I think I know the basics of microing but wc3 is very different and I could use some tips:

Should you alway try to focus/kill ennemy hero in battle?

When you attack someone with some allies, should you rally your units building to your hero so reinforcement come? Or you let new units in your base for a future fight? I noticed that in the heat of the battle I sometime don’t see that my reinforcement are attacked by mercenaries 
Kinda a lp2 issue?

Any basic tips for microing your army in early, mid or late game?
1.no. depends on the situation
2.most of the time yes. ofc you should make sure the new units dont walk into creep camps
3.each hero into one group, units into seperate groups. save units , micro your heroes, micro your units- those are the basics

High level players will always have a defense plan for their heros so they dont get nuked. More newby players dont protect their heros as much, so I guess if you can punish them and kill their heros, go for it.

1.) Depending on the situation. If you can nuke an enemy hero ( out of position) easily than you should. But never sacrifice your army for a hero. Another good tip: fe: if you play orc and fs and have a decent army you can send your wolfs to harass enemy am, lich etc. They do decent dmg, make a nice diversion and force your opponent to multitasking.
2.) Depend on sitation. If you want win a big fight than you should. If you searching for a fight, but dosn’t know where your enemy mb. not the best idea. if you just skirmishing than not vital. If you’re ambushed , than you should save you’re reinforcements. + If you can kill every creep who can harass you’re supply lines.
3.) Fe: Group 1 melee gp2 ranged gp 3 casters 0 for peons militia or heroes. If you good/fast enough you not necessarily need a group for your heros coz you can select them with F1/F2/F3. But obviosuly much easier if you have a group with your heros and some melee troops whos dosn’t have special abilities.

upvote just because I think its cute and wholesome
In the campaign, you can usually go ahead and focus on killing the enemy heroes. People in high level competitive mode will usually keep their heroes alive with heal potions, divine shield potions, and teleportation items, so you’re probably going to waste your time focusing on trying to kill them. Meanwhile, they justed picked off a couple of your units and gained XP towards leveling up.
