Amazing to see the updated high fidelity WC3 REFORGED unit models, but the accompanying game environments look extremely poor in comparison (do the terrain textures even have specular maps?)
Why are the environments so poor in comparison?
Why use a WC3 engine when you could’ve utilized the lighting and physics system of the SC2 engine?
I hope this is an issue of it being early days development.

While I agree that the terrain could be better, it’s also a work in progress (with ~a year to go). I don’t think “just import the SC2 engine” is a viable solution. (The dev’s aren’t stupid. If they could ease their workload by doing something like that, it would already be done.)
I just hope that the models for certain units, and the terrain quality is improved before they release reforged. With so many models and tilesets to revamp though, I don’t/wouldn’t expect any sort of shortcut.
The unit and building models look amazing!

In an interview they had, they talked about upgrading the environment. That was just a quick model they put together for Blizzcon.

While I wouldn’t say no to an upgrade I didn’t think the environments looked bad. They were a big step up from the original game to me
People really should not bring up these 20 days old posts… The subjects have been handled days ago.
