Goodbye all my saved games

So after the last patch I can’t load any of my saved games because says the saved map is different on my hard drive which is nonsense because I have the same maps on the same folder without any changes. After losing hours of progress all I wonder now is what the next patch will do, corrupt all my new saved games again?
Because this is bullsh1t and blizzard just seems to do anything possible to make me hate this game.
Someone else with this problem?

Not really. Most people just Refund. Everything about this game is a problem

From what I was told over on the Bug Report forum, this was due to a patch that fixed a bug present in all previous game saves.

The correction of the bug made the save files incompatible with the patched version of the game on purpose in order to ensure the bug got squashed.

As long as doesn’t happen again I can live with that.

yeah, it won’t happen ever again.

…until they release a new patch in a few days, then kiss all of your saved games goodbye again.

For actively working to fix issues that people are constantly yelling about. That genius.

Or are you trying to add your hashtag soapbox where ever you can?

There shouldn’t have been any issues - they should have released a product that met the standards that THEY THEMSELVES said they would release.

It would be like you ordering a burger at a restaurant, paying for it, and then they bring you out a slab of raw meat… then you complain and they say, “oh okay we’ll cook it a bit longer”, and they never do.
They should’ve brought out a cooked burger, not one that needed more time on the grill, which is exactly what this game is.

If you went to a restaurant like that, would you go back? OR would you boycott it and say “this restaurant doesn’t deserve my business”.

But, in all of your “white knight” sarcasm, you probably will bend over backwards for every new product Blizzard has to offer because you think they’re still the Blizzard from the early 2000s. I say to you: Keep that bliss, keep that ignorance bro.

No amout of testing will find everything. It’s the reason the IT industry has an adage that describes it: The only true test is production. If you believe that software will ever be released without problems, you’re deluding yourself.

And be careful with analogies, they have to be analogous, which cooking a burger and coding 30GB of software are not.

And finishing it up with a ad hominem gibe only demonstrates that you had nothing else to resort to. But about that gibe, if it means fixing bugs, I’ll take realistic whiteknighting over your irrational expectations.

I had that problem before…

Also should I update WC 3 or not?..

You sound like you work for Blizzard the way you defend this mess of a game dude… Honestly, if you’ve never played the classic WC3 then I can see where you’re coming from, but there’s a reason this game has a 0.5 out of 10 on MetaCritic - for those of us who have played the classic WC3, we see the difference, and we let our frustrations be known.

And my “irrational expectations” (as you say), were for a working game. When this game came out the day it was released, PVP didn’t work, Campaign was broken (instant defeat), Custom Game lobbies were unable to join… etc… - basically there was no part of the game that was playable. But gosh golly, me and my “irrational expectations”, right?

Just shup up and give Blizzard my money and stop complaining is your solution, right?

I haven’t defended Blizzard. I said that they are fixing bugs and that across the industry no amount of testing will catch everything. You’ve twisted that into unilaterally defending Bliz.

The rest was pointing out an analogy that doesn’t fit and your attacks on character rather than the points.

Correct. Initial launch of a complex, multifaceted code assembled by a team of people. Again, no testing will ever catch all the issues.

Lol no. Again, you’ve twisted my words to neatly fit your soapbox.

I said they are releasing patches to fix issues, which is a statemtent, not a defense. You want to boycott them for it. I said it’s a standard across the entire industry, not just Bliz, that there will be unavoidable issues with new software, a reality, not a defense. You resorted to ad hominem.

There were just too many things. Like voice sync animations being way off, unfinished voice lines and portraits, 2 of the campaign missions have huge bugs ( NE 05 ROC not giving any exp from creep, NE 07 ROC on hard waves just get bugged and difficulty doesn’t increase they just send the same weak waves again and again and you can protect the human base without any problems for 45 minutes). I played multiple triple A titles, but never found so many obvious bugs in just 1 game. Any form of defense from blizzard or anyone else is just pathetic at this point, they messed up big time, everyone is aware of that. Those of us who still are around is cause we love the game despite its many flaws (because the classic game was just that good).

I do agree there’s a lot to fix. My point was countering the notion that there shouldn’t have been any issues, at all.
