Game looks way better but there is still a lot of work need to be done…In terms of graphics step in right direction…
Game looks way more clearer and less blurry team color are more pronounce everything looks smother…
Video #1 pre and post patch comparison :
Video #2 show even more to graphical improvements :
But graphics still need a lot of work so here is my list on what still need to be work on :
- Nighttime still look to dark (maybe lighting change to some more bluish)
- Team Colors are not vibrant like they are in classic graphics (visible especially during night time)
- Disease cloud abomination (reduce visibility on units)
- Aura effects are still too big and blurry
- Some hero (unite) skins are too small (example Jaina Proudmoore archimage)
- Hitboxes for some units need to be better
- Models look way better on train that is darker (good example is Night elf campaign) so maybe color palette for terrain cold be little darker especially grass is to bright…(color saturation could be lowered so unite models could pop up more)
- A lot of abilitys dont look finished and polished.
Ty for reading i hope i point out on things that need to be done with this feedback…

Good and specific feedback. I agree with the above. Hitboxes are the most important imo.

Has someone done a graphical comparison between this patch and the previous?

Is it worth switching to reforged graphics now? I tried at released but classic much more fluid…

Peter, are you joking? Ofc it isn’t. The new gfx hitboxes are so small you can’t even hit units.
I havent been playing yet but apparently its getting better and better…
It is good that at least something is improving and recognize it.
Now it would be nice if someone else knows that the game artist is moving forward.
Sorry, but it looks terrible, just a bright, saturation filter over all units/building.
Colours are way off now, units lost lots of depth.
This is not a fix, it just broke something that was not broken before.

Yes, the readability is a big problem and it’s one of the reasons why so many people aren’t using the reforged graphics. Personally, I’m still having far too much trouble finding the Mountain King and Paladin on the screen. Spellbreakers are also very confusing because they have so many different colours.

I think it’s a step in the right direction, but maybe even take it a couple steps further. The new graphics are dope but readability is still an issue in big fights. Much better for smaller early game skirmishes though. Progress! MUCH better than release.

You can barely even see a difference with the old and new comparisons, like what the hell is going on? The graphics of this game look so dated for 2020 it’s disappointing…

Reforged graphics will forever be terrible because they don’t fit warcraft aesthetic. You can change all the lighting you want, they will always have a mediocre chinese mobile vibe.

He’s right honestly the one thing that makes viewing reforged hard is:
Healing scrolls and salves covering the units and disease cloud covering the units in fights.
Makes whole fight look like a green cloud.

Yes i agree some healing effects (especially Obsidian Statue) are kind making fights less visible…
In general i think Undeads are the least polished race…The best in my opinion are Night elves then Orcs and after Humans…
There is a lot of negativity in general surrounding reforged and i as all of us was disappointed with the game release state of the game…
But because i love wc3 i am glad that they still work on this game and maybe by the end of 2020 we could have something that is close to blizzcon 2018 demo…
Also think that blizzcon 2018 demo was in sc2 game engine not in wc3…(if you look at shadows from buildings and in general it looks exactly the same as in sc2)
In my opinion game should be released late 2020 or early 2021 with all features that we want and avoid the hate that game gets…That would be better movie than unfinished release…

Yes it WAS dissapointing but within a few years I can see things stabilize.
But I think most of the fixes will come after the coronavirus is over. I am just waiting on the balance patch for new meta.
I think you are dreaming of stuff never will happen.

I think the terrain and optimisation are the most important.

We should make more of this and less pointless “muh childhood” posts.
They may stabilize. But will they be better than the W3 that we had before?Because for now it seems that they only aim to make a W3 with graphic improvements and nothing else.
W3 will lose all this if it is so.
