Give back Classic

I use my agency to ask for classic.

That’s conspiracy theory 101, dude!

Sorry, but you probably misunderstood the meaning of this whole “upgrade”.
What you are saying is: why can’t I play WC3 on my (our) beloved bnet.
What blizzard is saying: the old battle net servers have been shut down.
What he is saying: blizzard did good, screw you old players.

That’s all.

Yes. You can still use the Classic WC3 client to connect to third party match making services. Unfortunately those older versions are deprecated with the latest version of BattleNet.

By the way, in the long history of WC3, most players weren’t using BattleNet to play online. They were using these other third party services. BattleNet for WC3 only became popular again with the announcement of WC3R and the subsequent updates to the WC3 client that provided BattleNet 2 connectivity. The original BattleNet 1 service that you seem to believe you were using went dark a few years ago.

Like clockwerk you repeat yourself every time.

The problem is also that third party service won’t have a big enough playerbase to support filling a 24 player maps that i play. The map that i vested my interest in.

Classic online had 7000 concurrent users. How many do you think a third party LAN service has? Myth 2 fan servers has 200 from what i heard.

By the way, in the long history of WC3, most players weren’t using BattleNet to play online

Not true. Hostbots still required battlenet, get your facts straight. ENTgaming connect had nowhere near the same amount of players. Get your facts straight.

Netease doesn’t count because it’s for the asian wc3 community.

What is the source of this quote?

W3Arena was incredibly popular. That was the service that Grubby used to play WC3 Ladder. Nearly everyone who wanted to play on a WC3 Ladder used the service. NetEase is huge so I’m not exactly sure why anyone would make such a statement and think they would be taken seriously.

But whatever, you can stay angry and rant all day or you can do what you need to do to continue playing the game you enjoy playing. It’s entirely up to you how you want to proceed.

Good luck.

Netease is an official Blizzard partner to provide service to China. Chinese laws require internet services must be provided by a Chinese company, so there’s a load of Chinese tech companies that end up providing official support for non-Chinese services, such as Perfectworld, Tencent, Baidu, etc.

Keep ranting rather then doing something that will allow you to continue playing the game. I’m sure that eventually the world will magically change just for you.

Asking for classic is not the same as ranting.
I’d rather not use third party services if i don’t have to.
When we turned to ENT and W3arena we got bans.
So the cure becomes the poison.

Ah so you are a map hacker. I completely understand why you are upset now. Thanks for letting me know that I can discontinue this conversation entirely.

Cheers.

You’re drawing conclusions from thin air.

i got a great idea that people will hate but blizzard will love

just wait a year and then sell wc3 classic for 20€ on your store  many people will want to purchase it to own it ROFL

Even better idea - sell custom campaigns, LAN functionality and single-player customs separately.

Why would people pay for a game that they already own the CDs that they can use to install the client game, or who already have that version of the game installed?

OH! Right, because there will always be those players who have no clue how to use their computer and will need someone to hold their hand every inch of the way. Yep, sounds like a great plan.

You can already play LAN games in both WC3 AND WC3R.

Single Player Custom Campaigns can be made available in the custom games menu of WC3R. That’s how it works in SC2.

hey, this was meant as a joke haha  nothing more than that

You need the 30 GB to make maps so as to verify they work with Reforged (HD) assets.

Did it even have servers originally back pre 2000?! I do not recall it having any functional ones, even after I got access to broadband to play online.

Age of Empires 2 has had 2 remasters. I think the first remaster added new modern servers to the game. The more recent one was just a refresh. Technically the most recent one was just another cash grab, but still.

If your computer crashed that points towards some pretty serious driver or hardware problems.

RF sounds about another cash grab if you ask me then, least no over promise and under deliver.

2 iq posters. It’s called a market comparison.

What’s the install base for AoE2? It may be a cheaper proposition to maintaining a single matchmaking server for a limited market than to continue to maintain BattleNet for a deprecated client base.

You don’t have those numbers so making a comparison as if you do is pointless.

Why does Myth II: Soulblighter still not run on BungieNet?
