I’ve been playing Warcraft 3 (Reforged) for about two weeks without issues on my Odyssey 32" monitor running at 239Hz. However, now the game instantly closes on launch and shows a standard unexpected error message.
Both my NVIDIA drivers and the game are fully up to date, and I haven’t made any changes to the system or in-game settings recently. It was working perfectly before.
Has anyone else run into this? Could it be related to refresh rate, resolution, or something else?
Games don’t work fine for 2 weeks and then stop working when nothing has changed. Probably some Windows Update installed in the background messed things up. It happens all the time without you even knowing it, so you might need to rollback some updates.
But you also ask about game settings, which implies that you have changed some. Easiest way to work around this is to back up, then delete, the Warcraft III folder found in your Documents folder. The game will re-generate this on next launch with the default settings. This is the easiest way to check if a game setting is causing issues. An alternative to this is installing the PTR version of the game and seeing if that works.
