Hey, I’ve been having issues with FPS drops in the reforged version of Warcraft 3. I only recently bought my gaming laptop and I checked – all drivers are up to date, all windows updates are installed as well. The game is using dedicated graphic card (I made sure that it’s the case in the Windows graphic settings). I tried some troubleshooting like clean boot, checking CPU cores separately to see which one could be causing issues (all of them seem to be giving the same results). FPS is at around 50-60 most of the time but every 5-10 seconds it drops to 20-25. So far the experience with the game is not the best… I already tried closing background apps and I have no 3rd party security software. Could you help please?
So many people have reported this problem.
Me and bunch of other people have stopped playing till they sort it out.
Meanwhile, you can add your sepcs to this thread here to give it more eyeballs :

Thank you.
If you’re on a gaming laptop, there is a very high probability the game is trying to use your integrated graphics. Go into Device Manager, and click the + next to display adapters.
If there is more than one device listed, disable the one that isn’t the name of the graphics card you know your system has.
The thread linked above you should also post in, and be sure to include anything else you tried to attempt to resolve the problem.
Friend, believe me, this situation has nothing to do with the CPU core or even the brand (most graphics cards are independent, unless the reforged image cannot be an integrated graphics card). I have tested the PTR version, and the FPS is much higher. In most cases, it can be stabilized at 200+. This is a version issue, and I believe it will be fixed in the future update process, but it may also return with the update. All we can do is wait for the official repair and update
I recently purchased this game and I am also experiencing this, even on PTR. FPS just spikes down every few seconds. And no, the game is not running on integrated graphics. I have a 4080 and 7800x3d
Friend, believe me, this situation has to do with many different things, and depending on your individual circumstances it can be any one of them. Please don’t dismiss solutions that have ACTUALLY WORKED for various users.
This isn’t saying there’s something wrong with your CPU cores or anything like that. It’s simply a matter of the more processes active on a given core/thread of a core, the slower the performance will be. It is actually very likely that this is is one reason (of probably many) that performance in the game fluctuates so much from patch to patch. This isn’t a new problem- Literally every time they update the game, performance changes, regardless of the actual changes they make. One of the reasons this has people looking at the CPU so much is because this game is very CPU heavy and doesn’t really utilize the GPU very well.
This has been suggested because some users did see a performance improvement after doing it. It may not work for you but that doesn’t mean it’s not valid.
Like I said: every single different build of the game is giving off different performance. The PTR hasn’t been updated recently and when it is, the performance will change again. Sometimes it goes up and sometimes it goes down, and it’s pretty obvious it’s not because of any attempt by Blizzard to optimize the game.
This is something unique to War3R, and not something i’ve really ever seen in another game before. Usually performance only changes significantly due to deliberate actions by a developer.
