I agree, new technologies (which are heavily used just because they are cheaper to implement) are not an excuse for a company like Blizzard for BAD coding.
In fact the old menu doesn’t look worse, to say the least and worked on 20 years old machines pretty well. This is where the gaming industry started to prefer more money today instead of QUALITY. But this isn’t a surprise - after all same happens with movie industry, music, etc.

In fact you said it yourself - “All modern software requires more resources”.
The funny part is that in some cases it even doesn’t bring better experience.
To say the least - the new menu isn’t better looking than the old one developed in 2002.
The start menu loads forever on my machine (mine is not so good I must admit), but I can tell you I have friends with very fast and very expensive machines and the menu loads SLOWLY for them as well. These are machines on which most of the new games run smoothly on highest settings.
And lets get back to what Blizzard did - lets not forget this is a REMASTER of a game and not an EXPANSION. There is no obvious reason for a company like Blizzard to impact the CLASSIC game users experience, by bringing REFORGED (the remaster).
And unfortunately this is a matter of FACT, in not one, but in many ways - forcing 20 GB download, totally different menu, different profile icons, map loads; menu which loads very slowly on many machines - same machines which ran the game without issues before REFORGED.
I catch a pattern here… I waited on the WoW Classic queues for hours to get in and play the game I love and now I receive REFORGED as a present for my loyalty to the company I once loved, but it turns out it’s a reFORCED instead. Because now I’ll be forced to buy REFORGED simply because I want to play battle.net rated games and tournaments. And the sad part is - the people who developed REFORGED don’t really deserve my money…

Even if you buy it. You will not be able to play qualifiers. They just don’t exist.
I think Classic should go free to play, since the amount of piracy right now is huge.
Plus, after they finish polishing I would like to see some new content in Warcraft 3, like new campaigns and stuff.
They should learn their lesson though, never take away something from the people if you cannot replace it properly.
People arent pissed off by new graphics and content that much, people are pissed off that they cannot play the old game.

Stop Messing With Voices
A line from the Spell Breaker about stealing various spells like Starfall, Heals, Faerie Fire and Reincarnate, and the jail time you get for doing so.
Also a line from Varimathras: sounds of human male dying “And that concludes our demonstration… any questions?"
I see no reason why these had to be removed in a game where lots of stealing and killing take place, especially when it’s a Spell Breaker’s job to steal spells and the Undead are known for killing humans. Unnecessary censorship at its finest.
As for the Dryad’s line admittedly that’s different and one could find it more offensive, as a “human call” of “I’m so wasted” could be interpreted as suggesting that humans are drunk when they mate, but it doesn’t clearly say anything like “mating call” or “sex”. That’s just one possible interpretation that requires some assumption. It could also be interpreted as simply saying that humans like to gather or party drunk, which is more in line with events like the Brewfest from World of Warcraft and shouldn’t be an issue. Either way it’s still just a joke and shouldn’t have been censored in a Teen rated game.

Well, they have the balls to lie to our faces and string us along. Why not ban people and lose even MORE customers?
