Hey trying to make a map with flat armor instead of % armor, I tried using hardened skin but its not working correctly unless im doing something wrong with it. Also tried a DDS from hive but it doesn’t seem to work with the new editor as far as i can tell. Any tips?
Hardened skin should work. What’s it doing?
You have to change the armor value to 0.00 in gameplay constants to stop the %reduction by armor value, if you not already did that.
Yes already altered the gameplay constants to remove the % armor, and Hardened skin just isn’t reducing damage. I tried a regular melee game and it works for the mountain giants, but even when I use the hardened skin ability on another unit without altering it all its not working. I’ve gotten it to work in old maps in classic so im baffled as to why its not working now.
Did you make sure to remove the research requirement? I’m using an ability based on hardened skin in my map and it’s functional for me.
Yes I did, thank you for letting me know it works for you, i must be doing something wrong i’ll figure it out now that i know it can work for others.
You need to values in gameplay constants.
Armor reduction or something.
Then check ingame how much damage is reduced by picking up armor items and holding mouse over armor.
I just checked it out in my map. The problem might be that the effect is lower than you’d expect, as the hardened skin effect appears to occur before any damage type reductions. Thus, if you take off 5 damage, then reduce by 30%, the total difference between having 5 armor vs. 0 armor will be less than 5.
