Fix the damn bnet bug, it randomly dcs for no reason

Have a perfect connection can do anything else with no issues, yet reforge since it came out randomly kicks out of bnet while im still 100% connected and sometimes even when im in a game… really if you dcant fix this bs restore the old warcraft 3 clients and split it from reforge trash

Have 5% dc rate, the question is, in 2024 there is still some game without reconnect system.

pre reforge i never dced from a single game with 10x worse internet and pc lol it really turns me away from warcraft 3 which is why i quit for over 3 years because reforge has destoryed the game and its communitys honestly they should just give us back the old client and split it from reforge the damn thing even dcs me from bnet in single player lol it has nothing to do with the games or connection because im still on when it happans until a game ends

Well as much as its fun to blame Reforged for anything, I’ve never had a DC in Reforged that was not my internet going out. Never. The issue is either on your end or along your route to the server. Potentially resolvable with a VPN to change your route. Blizzard can’t just go “oh, we don’t like this guy, let’s make him DC” and any bug in the game causing disconnects would likely affect everybody to some degree.

You can have totally fine internet and have trouble connecting or staying connected to specific servers. It’s a routing problem not a game or application problem. It doesn’t matter how many other things work fine. Just another case of people not knowing how these things work.

You seem to be confusing “disconnect” with “game crash.”

You cannot disconnect from a single player game unless you’re a single player in a Custom Game which is on an online server.

game grash would close out the game, so no im not lol it dcs from bnet itself in single player as well lol and the fact is it dcs from bnet sometimes online and keeps me in the game until the game is over lol so no its not and you have no idea what your talkign about lol plus it legit says disconnected from bnet lol that impossible to mix up lol when it flat out says it lol lol you want videos that i cant even link on here but okay ill see if i can capture it it happans every single day lol

If you play in single player mode you can not DC. Period. If you’re disconnecting from battle.net, that’s, again, a problem either on your end or on the path your connection is taking to reach the servers. Single Player does not require an internet connection. If you only want to play single player, then put battle.net in offline mode and then there’s no possibility for it to interfere.

They knew for all those years, all those decades, that this game needs reconnection mechanism and yet they gave us only another middle finger -.-

That’s because this game was designed in an earlier time and there wasn’t an RTS game up to this point that an ability to reenter the game after disconnecting.

According to Arcitct they explored adding such a system but its likely Activision’s defunding and destaffing of the project prevented that.

Again, the development team behind the game isn’t the reason things turned out the way they did, it was because of Activision itself sabotaging the project.

It’s not a simple feature to implement in a game this old, not that players care and nor should they. If enough resources were provided it could be done.

Regardless they could add back the lag screen which would drastically reduce the impact of momentary packet loss.

In some contexts it was better than nothing, but it’s also unpleasant for the other players in the game since the game has to come to a total stop during such network instability. And I imagine this is the reason that was disabled on battle.net.

I think there may be a distinction beyond the game completely crashing. During the beginning of Reforged and, to a lesser extent, even now, I have been getting a “game crash” but to the match results screen.

It’s not the same as a “timeout” that you get when the waiting for players screen comes up and the person ultimately times because of their internet connection. You’re probably right that it’s still an issue along the route. . . maybe a bad hop or three somewhere along the line. . . but the crash to match results screen literally never happened in TFT. It’s a Reforged “feature” as far as i can tell.

We ran out of time to implement it, then the team fell apart and was eventually let go. That’s all there is to it.

I’ve had crashes before (like actual CTDs) but i’ve never heard of this getting booted to the score screen thing.

Thing is, it has to still be in the game,because W3C is utilizing it Thats not something you could just implement in an external mod otherwise

There are many partially implemented features such as quick-cast. The game is not finished, it was launched way too early.

But this isn’t even a new feature, it was already in the game. You didn’t have to redevelop everything from scratch did you?

Large portions of the codebase were refactored. Additionally integration with BNET 2.0 was a complex process that created many unforeseen issues.

To really fix Reforged and provide the intended product you would need a full-stack development team, two years to account for them to learn the codebase, and probably 10mm+. The current borrowed people here and there will never accomplish this.
