Looks like WC3 team got some free Upscale model from Huggingface or Cvit AI and just ran everything through it via comfy UI. If you are a corporate at least Invest in Good AI and partner with AI providers stop being so cheap.
The Upscaling are horrendous, everything has their brightness Truned on to crazy and everything looks like shiny and metallic oil layer on top of all models.
This not a post on AI bad, but at least put $1 to get proper licensed AI tools, come on now. This looks like some high school kid upscaled it.
Please this is a horrendous job, AI is great but use good quality one and also learn to properly use them.

AI is bad. Your post might not be AI bad, but mine is. AI is awful and produces soul less shovelware garbage 100% of the time. Overall, the update was good for at least changing the menu UI and stabilizing the game a bit(way more work still needing to be done), but the Upscaled classic models just look a bit weird and uncanny.
Also, running the campaign in reforged with the upscaled models is still a worse experience because you still get Reforged’s changed voice lines, changed death sounds, AND the in-mission cutscenes have an uncanny static camera for all of them other than the original WC3’s somewhat dynamic camera that would pan around the characters and zoom in a bit for dramatic effect.
It might sound like it doesn’t make a difference, but play the same cutscenes in classic mode and Reforged mode with upscaled models and you’ll see.
Ideally, I’d like to see the RTS team do a WC3 equivelant to what WC1 and 2 got with quaint, HD models that actually emulate WC3’s artsyle rather than whatever the hell Reforged was originally trying to do.

Plenty of proof of this ease of practice, even on Warcraft I and II remasters there are AI elements.
You can’t prove something is AI generated just by looking at it.
Most art is created in high resolutions (if not by hand on physical meduims) and reduced down to whatever computers are capable of handling at the time. Usually you don’t have to even upscale or do anything to art to “remaster” it, you just package higher resolution copies of the original source art with the game. No AI required. So yeah, you’re going to have to try harder than that.

Or if you fancy doing it yourself, open the editor and look for the Classic + assets.
There is no need for theory crafting, AI art has deficiencies and they are VERY noticeable. Good luck.

Looking at assets in the editor doesn’t in any way prove any of this lol.
Now, if you can show me metadata attached to the images that was put there by an AI generator (the image generators like DALL-E and others place tags in the metadata to indicate the image was created using AI), THEN you can prove it.
But it’s not my job to prove your claims. Prove it to me, I’m not going to do it for you.

It’s not my job to prove someone else’s claims.
Your link also doesn’t contain any sort of proof of AI use. You thinking images are ugly, oddly drawn, or unusual in any way does not amount to proof of the use of AI.
