User Interface
I like the moddable UI, but it feels too minimalistic. Unbordered character portraits isn’t right. Having no decal is a little strange.
One thing that always stood out to me in Starcraft and Warcraft 3 was the UI design and how stylish it was. How much detail went into making it look pretty or disgusting or mystical depending on the race you played. I would like some of that to be preserved in Reforged.
Visuals
A lot of the buildings look quite good. Some units could look better. For example, Knights are almost unrecognizable with how much darker they are overall with the black iron detailing coupled with the removal of the bright white armor trimmings.
Shamans and Necromancers look PERFECT. Same with the Blademaster.
I think Footmen could benefit from a little less ornate detail on their armor but I don’t mind it.
I found it somewhat difficult telling what was what when viewing the trailers, as far as units go. They are recognizable but their coloring has changed dramatically.
Orc Watch Towers have too much teeth. I quite prefer the more simplified design. Something in the middle would be perfect for reforged.
I do really really like how the new footman uses the design from the original cinematic. The more you guys can keep designs familiar for WC3 veterans the better imo. I know some of WoW needs to come in but I’m hoping it doesn’t change the game completely.
Really excited to see what this looks like in a year.
I liked the in-mission visuals.
The cinematics I’m not sold on. I know there’s more work to be done, but the facial movements, body language, etc didn’t seem to fit. The amount of graphical detail that has been put in doesn’t seem to match their animations as it relates to their words, emotions, state of mind, etc.
For example, during Arthas’ “you’re with me or you’re not” spiel, his head/eyes look like he’s staring at everyone’s feet and it looks like he was not at all fired up… all while he’s trying to be authoritative and fired up.

This game is for WoW fans, not Warcraft fans. Just like how Diablo 3 was for fans of something other than Diablo.
WTF man? NEEDS? No it doesn’t. You don’t put WoW in WC3… Especially not modern WoW lol
I agree with the dev sentiment that achieving parity to some degree with events that cross over between the franchises is important.
I like the change to Stratholme and I want to see any additional changes be mostly in the same vein. For example, geographically the Sunwell is on an island, not inside Silvermoon.
I’m not a fan of WoW by any means, but keeping some things consistent is important for player experience.
I’m sure the final mission of TFT will get a similar overhaul to really capture how Icecrown looks in WoW. I wouldn’t mind that, and that mission could use a little work touching up anyways. (The difficulty spike is crazy)
Well they should’ve done that in WoW if they wanted WoW lore to be Warcraft lore
You don’t retroactively change a game when you remaster it to fit a bad retcon lol
