Disappointed with reforged graphics

Everything looks so lazy, it looks like 2012 graphics, I literally tricked my friend saying how this game was made in 2014, he said “yeah it looks pretty good for that time” than sadly I told him its a 2020 game… Yeah he laughed out loud, this is not how I imagined reforged to be but this is… WARCRAFT 3 REFORGED NIGHT ELVES IN UNREAL (SHORT PREVIEW) - YouTube

Sounds to me like you kids need to get over yourselves and appreciate gameplay over graphics.

The graphics look great.

The link you posted looks horrible. It doesn’t look realistic at all and the amount of reflection and shadows are blinding. How would you be able to play multiplayer on that? Usually, when you play multiplayer you have all of the graphics on low, anyways; why does it matter?

If I wanted pure gameplay, I would just continue playing Warcraft 3…

Well, good news. You got modern graphics that are better than Classic Warcraft 3’s.

Well, even then you were wrong. This is a modified version of a game released in 2002.

It looks quite good for what it is. If you were expecting any more than this in a remastered version you were fooling yourself. Don´t expect anything revolutionary until a fully fledged sequel is developed.

Is sad how the game looks now, but its only a beta, we still having hope that in the launch they bring more graphical options for the game to looks like the awesome demo they showed last year.

It’s a remaster based on 17 y.o. engine, not a new game

It literally has the exact same gameplay as Original WC3, you fool. The whole point of Reforged is updated graphics.

The graphics look great.

No. they don’t. Not even close to great.

I really dont understand what the heck were you people expecting Reforged to look like when they made VERY clear from the VERY beginning that Reforged would use the same game engine from 2002-2003. At NO POINT were you being promised some Unreal Engine 4 game, so your expectations should have been set according to that information…but apparently somehow still you whiners expected something else…

And btw that UE4 vid right there looks ugly as heck. I dont know about you, but I want my Warcraft 3: Reforged to BE as colorful and sharing the same kind of style as the original game had. So in that regard Refroged is pretty much filling the expectations I had for it.

But too freaking bad if thats not good enough for you, but I should just say that you had completely wrong expectations to begin with if you expected Reforged to look like 2019 triple A game in terms of the graphics and visuals…

So what needs to be done in that video to make it realistic? How would you make it realistic?

Why are you lying?

This was the expectaction, and the beta doesn’t look nearly as good as this.

I completely agree with you, isyck. I made a pre-order of the game on December 2 of this year … and now I am very afraid to see the quality drop of the graphics and the ugly interface (HUD) with respect to the Blizzcom 2018. I only played beta a few minutes, very disappointed. If when the full game comes out, at least the graphics are not like those of the Blizzcom 2018 I will ask for the game’s refund.

Well perhaps im completely blind then, cause I honestly dont think the beta looks that bad compared to Blizzcon 2018 demo…

You seem to think that they look like two entirely different games, but I honestly cant see it. The main things that I can see about 2018 demo:

-Different hud
-Different kind of lighting/coloring (not as colorful/brightly colored as the original game or the beta we have today) which also honestly could be just due to lighting they chose for that particular campaign map

But somehow you are treating it like we would be talking about two entirely different looking games, which I honestly cant understand…

I guess we shall see when Reforged campaign drops out direct comparison between it and 2018 demo and then we can really see just how different it really looks…

The trees and their movement, the terrain, the shadows, the color balance, the UI, all of it is better in the demo. It all comes together very well, while the beta is all over the place with HQ models and LQ enviroment.

Congratulations, Bainazzard!. With people as conformist as you, what is the reason for video game companies to improve the quality of their products?
I am 43 years old, I already bought this game from Blizzard almost 20 years ago and I played it and enjoyed it. The only motivation I had to buy it again was the obvious improvements in graphic quality and interface (HUD) presented by blizzard in 2018. What I can see in this beta is partly similar to what was presented last year, but not It is the same (lighting effects, mechanics and interface (HUD)). If they do not meet the expectations generated in me, and in many other users like me … we have every right in the world to feel cheated. I want to be generous and ignore the fact that they will not make the changes in the campaign and cinematics they promised. But I want to see at least exactly the same graphics as in 2018. I think that’s not much to ask.

Did your friend also laugh when you told him you play wc3 for the campaign only? Because that’s true, right…

Well I can understand the criticism about the hud and the lighting (and other effects) if you would like the overall look to be more “realistic/dark” to go better together with the new units models, but Im just stating my honest opinion that after playing the beta Im quite happy with how the game currently looks…

I personally really dont see it as THAT huge of a difference that some of you are claiming there is, but again that just goes showing that some ppl might more easily pick up some details that I honestly cant pick up/dont really care about.

I mean I have not problem if they would still improve the look of the terrain, lighting effects and such, ofc not! And the matter of fact that they have been slowly adding in some effects that have been still missing from the beta with updates seem to atleast suggest that there might be still be more visual effects that are still missing from the beta. And imho especially when it comes to multiplayer, I would understand that first and foremost Blizzard has to make sure that the game is running smoothly and doesnt have huge framerate drops when there is lot happening on the screen.

But lets wait and see how the final product will actually look like and then we can make direct comparison between 2018 demo and the release version of The Culling map.

Ofc also giving players the option to choose between classic and new kind of interface would be welcome addition.

Wow! I Love the Look of this gameplay from the Demo of the Last year! Looks awesome! The demo looks better than beta and this is a really supreme truth for me.
Look this smooth detailed terrain, the realistic shadows, the awesome modern graphics rendering, beautiful trees, the good quality of lighting, the awesome UI and other things!
But the Purists ever will try to make to the game looks stranger…
