Difference WCIII 2.0 and Reforged 2.0 (Full paid)

Hi,

Genuine question… I’ve still had old WCIII keys on my account. Downloaded the game. 30GB. Okidoki. 2.0 patchnotes looking good. I mainly want to play campaign and call it day. Any differences Classic vs Reforged with patch 2.0?

I’ve tried to take a look on the forum but nothing about 2.0. I think I am good to go delving myself into WC III without Reforged if it’s just the same campaign without the HD stuff.

Scaling is all messed with and some of us have been having issues with invisible units and buildings…even in Campaign
I don’t own Reforged and have these issues since 2.0…
they decided to combine the clients of WC3 and WC3R for some dumb reason

So I better delete my current install, and downscale to 1.32? Correct? Or just sit it out and wait until a new hotfix/new patch? I want to complete WCIII for good.

If you know how to do that…they combined the Clients there is only Reforged now…moment you connect to battlenet it just redownloads 2.o

Lets find out the legal way :wink: I bet there’s possibilities. Otherwise I just play 2.0 and see how far I go and what bugs I encounter

You can install the OG version (you can find online the official archived installers/patches if you don’t have CDs) and apply patches up to 1.27b, or download the game files of an already “installed” game (there was a 1.29-1.31 I believe).
It’s a bit of tinkering, but for single player, custom maps works just fine. And it will be less than 3GB (compared to 30). Make a backup of that folder, make sure do disable the autoupdate in battlenet launcher, it likes to update by itself the older version.

Or blizz can just roll it back and keep them 2 different Clients like they were before…
User’s shouldn’t have to tinker with a god damn thing…

I feel like you’re just trying to make Blizzard do all the work for you at this point. If you’re interested enough to suggest the idea be made official, you should be invested enough in it to try the existing methods first.

Common (and cliche) misconception. That billion dollars isn’t available to any dept that wants it. It’s no more available to the WC3 franchise than the capital of your job is avaliable to you.

Thanks. Lets do that instead. I want to play it on my CRT too, so no need for widescreen patch.

Well, I have the original cds + backup isos, but it’s pretty easy to install the original version and then manually patch up to 1.27b. It can even exist alongside Reforged, just install to a different folder. I have a copy patched to 1.27b from my battle chest, a 1.29 patch because widescreen is sweet, and reforged.
