The statements below are in reference to custom games. I’ve no info for ladder desyncs, but I’d be afraid to even bother trying that right now.
Joining games doesn’t seem to be a problem anymore, thank goodness. I’m really greatful that it seems to be resolved, but now I can’t seem to stay in a game once it starts. Either I desync or I’m one of the 2 that doesn’t desync. I’ve asked friends who’s game I join and they state that I’m the only one desyncing in some test cases.
Is there something I’ve not set up or a change I can make to help this issue? I don’t understand why I can’t play games. This is truly disheartening.

50% of my hosted games are having desyncs. I restart the game but it happens to anyone who doesn’t.
Custom games are unplayable for me. All my favorite maps desyncs.

I’m having the same issues, all custom games seem to cause this issue

Yeah even with restarting the client I’m still getting desynced. It’s really disappointing when you get into a custom game you enjoy that isn’t hosted or fill often then after all that you desync.
Hope its fixed soon

It seems there’s another thread on this that was opened recently too… So this is more widespread than I was hoping.
I guess there’s no public information about this from Blizzard is there? Like a “Hey, we know this is happening” type thing with any hope of resolution? I haven’t found much I was hoping to get to play during my holiday but I guess that’s just unlikely.
The thing is, I don’t remember “desync’s” being a problem back in the day (meaning early 00’s). I played a bit before this December’s updates started rolling through (you know, the bot removal patches [which I don’t think is related]) and desyncing was an issue even with the bots. What’s the deal? This seems related to something that occurred long after I stopped playing which was like 2011, but since before I came back.
Has this been an issue with any other Blizzard games too?
Blizzard needs to address this.

Yeah this is the most common issue custom games have now at the moment, hopefully it get fixed AZZAP or some sort.
Okay so I played Tree Tag twice recently (the more recent map with auto-upgrades), and both times I got desynced from the game maybe 10 minutes in. It happened both times when I had tons of buildings and that typical WC3 lag spike + few seconds of recovery (you know, when it goes at like 300% speed), except there was no recovery, it just froze for a second and then dropped me.
Thus, it seems to have to do with the connection and/or the unit/building synchronization kind of stuff. Note that these buildings were on auto-upgrade mode (fully upgraded, just checking on a regular automatic basis to see if they needed further upgrading). My guess is that the solution is to make the desync/disconnect a lot more “tolerant” somehow.
Also, I’m on WIFI. My connection is good and everything, but WIFI is known to drop packets every now and then.
custom games desync problems are still going on and very frustrating
I really think people should start gathering data on this and sharing it. I’ve had several games with no desync for any players, and a few games where players randomly d/c’d throughout the game, and one map that desyncs before the game even loads all the way.
Is it map related? ISP related? Gateway? Sound file? Background program? Or just random client issues? The latter seems unlikely, with coding things usually don’t just “happen” without a reason. Especially not repeatedly.
I’m not even sure that Blizzard has access to the data when a game gets dropped. They might be running with just the data from their own work. Not that nobody got time for that, but a compendium of information on this subject could probably do some good. Writing down what happens as a game gets desynced and sharing it on the forum.

It’s so irritating that blizzard doesn’t even respond to all of these threads. Even if they just put a message on the reforged link that says “Custom games will be basically unplayable until further notice.” At least then I will stop trying. I feel dumb for reserving reforged. Playing a game shouldn’t be this difficult. Tell us something! Don’t just leave us hanging!

This issue seems to still be happening as of July 2019. Custom games are just unplayable because of this issue. I felt so nostalgic and happy to be playing WC3 again, but after playing a dozen games this problem makes me not want to play anymore. Blizzard should fix this before players lose their faith the devs assigned to Warcraft 3.

Still going on… even custom game with mellee maps like “stormguard”
Lots of straight-up crashing, too. Be nice if I could actually play offline. LIke in, y’know, classic and TFT
Yeah, this is still happening. Needs to be addressed promptly.

Its unplayable for me. Any game I host, either custom made or not causes desyncs the second the game starts… sometimes a minute or two later… lobby barely has ~50 ppl and nobody can play any games for long…
