The game is unplayable!! In 9 out of 10 matches, the ping is averaging over 200+. What is the point of having a region selection option if the system only matches me with Asian opponents anyway?
Is any change expected, or is the game dead?

Yes, I said before, maybe most EU player died from the heat
Its crazy, my AT enemy never have high ping.
The game is very much alive. Sorry it doesn’t like you. ![]()
I mean if you’re playing at peak times for those players, you’re going to see more games with them.
But sorry, 200ms is not “unplayable.” It’s definitely less pleasant, but I’m entirely able to play and complete games with that ping. Heck I remember back in the day 200 ping wasn’t even that bad. If it’s “unplayable” for you, well, you need to “get gud” I guess. Not that I’m in any way good at this game, because I’m not.
But the EU heatwave is actually very likely at least partially responsible for how things are right now, as it is so bad there right now that even sitting in your house playing video games (on a PC that’s going to add even more heat to the room) is unbearable regardless of ping.
Unfortunately, 200ms was bad, especially for skilled players, it only doesn’t affect for noobs because they have 0 impact anyway. Every time I play against when I have 200-400ms, I just quit immediately; it’s a complete waste of time.
Furthermore, AT seems to have a network hijacking function. I wrote before that one day I was matched with the same AT for 7 games in a row, only one of 7 I had a 60ms connection, the rest were 400ms. In that game, the opposing AT leave also immediately.
Maybe but the vast majority of palyers are noobs and thus aren’t as severely affected by this kind of latency as you, mister pro are.
If both sides have high ping, it’s not really a problem because at least the game is balanced. But when one side has high ping and the other doesn’t, that’s clearly unfair. This is especially obvious when playing against AT teams, since 99% of the time the AT side has a normal, stable ping.
Other platforms already offer same-ping matchmaking rooms. At the most basic level, players expect a fair and balanced gaming experience, and the current situation clearly doesn’t meet that expectation.
The only way to guarantee this is to ensure there’s someone from each different location on each team but that isn’t always possible.
But I maintain it’s not that big of a deal in most matches, this is not a hyper twitch fast action FPS game, it’s an RTS, and a relatively slow paced one at that. while actions can come down to a handful of milliseconds deciding the outcome of an encounter, it ususally doesn’t outside of the highest level of play.
Note that I"m not saying what you suggest wouldn’t help but this is Blizzard we’re talking about, good ideas have no lease here.
Before, the high-ping matches weren’t that frequent — maybe only 1–3 games in an entire evening. But last weekend, it felt like almost 80% match had high ping, which really made the game feel pointless and frustrating.
On the bright side, matchmaking in the new season doesn’t take as long as it used to. The problem is that the match quality is terrible. Not only do I get high ping constantly, but most of my teammates are complete beginners.
Over the past few days, my win rate when I’m playing with someone leave at start has been 100%, but for normal game without leaver, it’s only around 50%. The matches I lose are the kind where no matter who’s playing, it’s almost impossible to carry. https://imgur.com/a/hBvgres This picture might show you just how crazy my teammates are in this game right now.
200, sometimes 400… but still 200 playable?? whats is your mmr? ![]()
The high ping is a valid concern, and I agree it’s frustrating. However, high ping doesn’t necessarily mean the game is dead. Matchmaking, server routing, and the size of the active player pool can all affect the quality of matches.
This is also an example of naming and shaming. Posting a screenshot of teammates and calling them “crazy” shifts the discussion from the game’s state to publicly criticizing specific players. That doesn’t help the topic and only invites personal attacks.
Someone think crazy team is personal attack. Epic team/best team bnet is ridicule. What’s going on?
To add to the topic, the problem has gotten worse; my last six games today all had around 200 ping.
You’re missing my point. The issue isn’t the word “crazy” - it’s publicly singling out teammates with a screenshot to ridicule them. That doesn’t help the discussion.
Put a screenshot about a game record is a way redicule teammate, new meta. What about say something like tauren counter frost is a way to insulting human intelligence, and this is a redicule to all human here?
You’re still comparing two different things.
Posting a screenshot of ordinary players and using it to argue that your teammates are “crazy” is about specific people. That’s why I called it naming and shaming. The discussion stops being about matchmaking and starts being about individual players who are not public figures.
I’m going to make this simple for you.
Raiders counter air units.
Tauren do not.
Yes, Tauren can attack air units ensared by raiders, but the raiders are what made that possible thus making them the actual counter in that situation, and the raiders themselves are less vulnerable to their attacks while doing effective damage. Tauren are only effective with sufficient support from other units while raiders are rather versatile, giving you a melee unit you can build even if you invested in headhunters without reducing your anti-air ability.
Seem today ping is better, all game eu seaver is back, maybe the reason is german out of Fifa2026?
That’s another thread.
Here, we’re discussing high ping.
Yes, it is. Maybe you don’t understand.
Who cares? I don’t. I’m here to discuss how to improve ping. Do you have any ideas on that?
Dont delete your post again, so I can laugh every day.
Stop trolling Lutz !
You’re not here for any reason, you post for the sake of posting. Which admittedly may appear ironic for me to say for some people here, but it’s true.
You can’t eliminate the ping issue without eliminating the Asia playerbase. The only way to mitigate this besides artificial ping adjustments for fairness, is to have more servers in more locations to produce the lowest ping possible for the most players in the most games- but that costs money and while Blizzard has made sever strucutre changes in rare cases, they’re not going to make infrastructer changes without it looking logical on a balance sheet.
