Dang it I said goodbye! But you dev updated me back

Title says it all really.

Played the remaster for FF7, it was nice.
Hopped on and saw the developer update and thought to myself “wow they’re actually still supporting it”.

Then proceeded to go and read the thing.

Other people who are better at this’ll nitpick the life out of it maybe but still there’s a few things i take issue with here.
THAT’S RIGHT I"M BACK FOR A FEW MOMENTS AND ONLY TO COMPLAIN!!

“Hail, Warcraft III: Reforged players!
It’s been too long since we’ve shared an update on our team’s progress.”

Nah it’s fine the people that followed this dumpster fire are used to that by now.
After all it’s only been what two years now?

“After a challenging launch, we’ve been regrouping, listening to your feedback, prioritizing the things we need to do for the game, and building a plan to deliver on our next steps.”

Challenging? That’s and odd way of saying bad. Because let’s be real here it was bad, and I mean like brand new studio that doesn’t know what in the twisting nether they are doing levels of bad. Matter of fact it was so bad that it actually took some of the heat off of how awful fallout 76 is !
Now the rest of that rot about listening to feedback, regrouping, and prioritizing… That’s just what it is, Rot.
It’s just words man. That looks and feels like corporate platitudes and lies.

You’re not even a full paragraph in and already it looks like you’re lying to the fools (including me…) that bought your embarrassing “reforge”.

now the rest just looks like a bunch of stuff that should have been there at launch along with stuff that was in the original but didn’t make it t the reforge and frankly i’m not excited man.

then they wrap the whole thing up with this.

" players can expect ongoing communications from us at regular intervals as we release patches."

Expect? I wouldn’t expect you guys to successfully make a piece burnt toast much less any sort of ongoing communications.

“As part of those communications, we’ll have a series of feature deep dives and development updates like this one, as well as lighter looks at other aspects of the game and community.”

What a bunch of baloney.
I bet all the gold in the mine and the lumber to boot that there’ll be all of two “deep dives” in the series and nary a single nod to the communities HARSH criticisms.

Look blizz or devs or whoever wrote that fluff piece…
You dropped the ball.
Hard.
You only have two good options here.

Option: 1 Give up and move on. devote your time and energy to not screwing up the next project.

Option: 2 Pull a SQUARE ENIX and torch reforged.
Shut it down for a few years and pull out Warcraft 3: A reforge reborn.

this thing where you are trying to make this dumpster fire work is just sad.
Sad, because I really hate to watch it suffer like this.

You have an overall point there, man… I feel sorry for the both of us, really…

Coming from someone who pre-ordered Fallout 76, I’m also angry, but the devs did something right here. With 76, we all asked for simple things like NPC’s or to just not sell out on their store and Bethesda ignored everything for as long as possible. While saving custom games versus AI and yourself SHOULD’VE been included at launch (why I hadn’t played much of the game until a few days ago, also present in the original), I and several others made forum posts about it as per recommended by the customer support, and they listened. It’s in the game now.

Still, there is reason to harp on them, one of them being the format of the letter itself. While the fibbing isn’t nearly as bad as Bethesda’s, this whole communication letter system is clearly inspired from 76’s Inside the Vault segments. They should be held accountable to make sure this doesn’t turn into Bethesda’s 'heccgoshdarn’show.
