Here’s my Dxdiag info. I don’t understand why framerate was extremely too low, even though I have already met system’s requirement.

Heya Dan,
I’d be happy to help look into this. I have a few questions that may help us better identify the report.
- Is the FPS constantly low or only happening during specific gameplay events?
- Is it only happening in menus, or does it happen in campaign / custom games?
- What is the FPS currently? 5, 10, 20, 50, etc.
Let us know. Thanks!
Well I don’t get why the framerate seems extremely too low which usually runs between 40-100 fps in remastered graphics which is unacceptable for modern hardware. It shouldn’t have a problem running the game at constant 300 fps.
Dan,
You’re at an extremely high resolution using g-sync, and the remastered textures are significantly more hardware intense than the original game. If it’s getting down to 40 FPS, does this change at all at lower settings? How about if you reset video driver AND game settings and play at default settings?
We probably want a DXDiag from you to be able to investigate other things that might be causing this.
What’s your email? I’d like to send out my DxDiag so that you can notify your dev team to take a look into low performance issue. And yes I tested both Classic and Reforged Mode. As a result, I’m getting more than 300fps in Classic Mode while I’m getting roughly 70-100 fps on average in Reforged Mode. GPU utilization seems extremely too low.
I have proof of this footage which clearly shows performance difference between Classic and Reforged Mode. I don’t understand why fps was tremendously low in Reforged whereas I can easily run 300fps+ in Classic mode. Believe it or not, I have the most powerful rig on the planet! There’s no way it would run extremely low fps in Reforged mode. Hence, you must tell your developer to immediately take a look into low framerate issue in Reforged mode.
Here’s example of footage:
There is a pretty massive difference in resolution between Classic and Reforged game modes. Getting higher FPS values while using lower resolution is expected behavior.
70-100 FPS is pretty good overall so I’m not sure how far we can go with troubelshooting here. We are unable to provide system optimization for enthusiast level FPS ratings such as 2-300, especially at 4k resolution.
That said, is the lower than expected FPS value causing any game issues? Such as freezing, crashing, stuttering, tearing, etc? Just to help us better identify if the problem is only the numeric value vs a problem that impacts the ability to play the game.
It’s pointless to run lower resolution, even though I own 3440 x 1440P Monitor. I’m telling you, it’s the game optimization issue. And no, I’m not having problem with freezing, crashing, stuttering, or tearing. What I’m trying to say is that it’s important to have very high framerate in order to benefit high refresh rate monitor (200Hz+), and also important to reduce input latency as well as frame latency which makes the game feel smoother, snappy, and responsive, especially for high resolution DPI mouse 12k+. Like I said earlier, please inform your developers to take a look into low performance issue in Reforged Mode. I have no problem with Classic mode but I want to run in Reforged Mode at 300fps+.
P.S. I have extremely powerful rig and you can even take a look at GPU utilization. GPU utilization is still low no matter which graphics mode I choose, whether it’s Classic or Reforged. Therefore, the game engine itself isn’t leveraging everything out of GPU’s horsepower. Nevertheless, less framerate means higher input lag which makes the game feel laggy, less fluidity, and not enjoyable whatsoever!
Dan19Ninety,
That could indicate a large number of things - hardware bottlenecks, driver conflicts, etc. Regardless, we are not developers, and we do not work directly with them for things like optimization or bug reports. We don’t code the game here, we troubleshoot. If you would prefer to just report what you think is an optimization bug, we have a forum for that.
We’re not doubting the power of your rig, but there’s more to framerate than just hardware, and the framerate you’re claiming right now (70-100 FPS) is beyond what we typically support. The reason we’re talking about things like lowering your resolution is diagnostic. The fact that the FPS is better in classic is useful diagnostic information. That’s also why we’re asking if lowering the resolution and/or settings helps. If it improves things at lower resolutions, it lets us know more about the issue to see whether or not we should be expecting this behavior on your specific hardware.
If you’d like to continue to receive support with this, we need you to provide the requested information, or we will have to go assist other people who are cooperating with support instructions. What we can use currently to look over it a bit more is:
- A new dxdiag - your old one was missing error reporting from windows. Without this we have little insight into what your PC is doing.
- Information on what range of FPS you get at lower resolution and lower in game settings.
- Then, if you crank it back up to high resolution and run HWMonitor while playing with lower FPS, get some screenshots of all the data in the Hwmonitor test, upload it somewhere like imgur, and link them to us. We can use that to see what most of your PC is actually doing during the periods with lower FPS/higher stress.
Again, if you just want to report a potential issue with optimization, you can do this at the bug report forums.
Done! Already submitted bug report including links + DxDiag file.

epic - in 2020 70 to 100 fps with his rig is pretty good - lets play some sarcastaball

Yeah…
But no seriously, I own 200Hz refresh rate monitor and they’re telling me 70-100fps is good which is absolutely incorrect. I can instantly tell the difference when it comes to frame latency, especially input lag!
And you’re having only 70-100 fps?
Just for comparison, I have a gaming laptop:
-i7-7700HQ
-GTX 1060 6gb
-16GB DDR4
-1920 x 1080 60 hz monitor(laptop screen)
And I am getting 70-100 fps, usually around 85.
I thought that was fine for my laptop so I didnt say anything. But now I think maybe the game is somehow unable to grant more than 100-110ish fps?
I havent provided a dxdiag or anything because this isnt my thread. But I can provide it if it helps them.
On average yes. I’m getting around 70-100fps in Reforged mode which is purely unacceptable at all! You can even take a look at an example of this footage:
Yea, I noticed.
I changed my mind, on some missions I’m having upto 130-140 fps(I reliased this on first mission of blood elf campaign, when the map isnt fully explored).
Johaylon,
Dan’s running with much more powerful hardware, but they’re also running at 1440p resolution to your 1080p, so their FPS performance will naturally be lower than yours as their PC is working about twice as hard as yours does in the graphics arena with about 20% more GPU power.
Dan,
Looking all this stuff over, it really does look like that’s just the max framerate you’ll be able to run the game at on that hardware at this time unless you try to nerf the other graphics settings. The bug report’s the way to go if you want that investigated - there may be more optimization our engine team can do on that hardware. Sadly within the Tech Support forums we’re tapped out since your PC isn’t showing any errors and overall your results don’t look crazy in those screenshots. You’re hitting about what we expect at this time.

Okay well I’m still not 100% satisfied with low framerate in Reforged mode. I was hoping your engine team can take a look into my hardware specs and try their very best to ensure that it’ll run much higher framerate in Reforged mode for next patch.
