been a year now, i try to play custom maps, and list jsut doesnt appear, and the background changes to deserted kalimndor, like “not conecting” to multiplayer; and its gettin super anoyying for a game we all bought
It is super annoying when a game you bought doesn’t work right. But please remember that just because you are having this issue doesn’t mean everyone is, and also remember that many issues can be fixed by the user, that’s what this forum is for.
It’s highly likely there’s a problem with your install or your settings file. There are a few things you can try.
- Click the cog next to the play button in the battle.net app and select “Scan and Repair.”
- Navigate to your Documents folder in windows’ File Explorer.
Look for the Warcraft 3 folder.
Right click on it, choose Properties.
Clear the checkbox next to “Read Only” on the window that comes up. This is a common problem that causes tons of issues.
Now go into the Warcraft 3 folder, look for a file war3preferences.txt and delete it.
See if the menus behave normally now. - Uninstall the game.
Delete the war3preferences.txt file described above.
Reinstall the game.
