I was wondering WHY blizzard decided to take away the Custom campaign folder, Most people that own Warcraft3 have already played the Campaign of the Warcraft3 game itself alongside its Expansion, Having access to Custom campaigns makes people excited to actually play the game, All we have access to now is a Map folder to store maps with a super short story.
None of the people involved with W3R are actually playing the game. So they probably asked each other if custom campaigns are important and everyone shrugged.
I like to hope that they removed it intentionally to make improvements to it like intro and outro cinematics and the camera buttons for interludes instead of just the regular chapter ones. But seeing what they’ve delivered with Reforged this past year, I’m sadly quite doubtful.
It’s fun because they won’t give us DLC with more campaigns either.
I mean, it’s making the game worse for free
From the tidbits of information I have gathered around the web and some discussions I have had, custom campaigns will be re-introduced with additional features for campaign makers. e.g. trigger libraries that multiple maps can share; possibly campaign multiplayer, like SC2 has now. I wouldn’t expect anyhing to be released until 2021.
Sounds plausible, any specific examples on where you heard that?
I found this but it’s old and no set date: _https://nuanet.net/warcraft-3-reforged-custom-campaigns/ and more recent but still old and no set date: _https://nuanet.net/we-got-an-update/
Still not an excuse for removing them though, especially for this long.
