Current patch is half baked at best

The current patch that they have tried releasing over the last two days just breaks so many things, I don’t understand why they keep trying to push it out. It is clearly not ready and they have no idea or just don’t care.

It’s always the same with Blizzard, they fail again and again, update after update, it never goes smoothly.

The era of amateurs, brought up by neural networks, ChatGPT and smartphones, has arrived. Amateurs who can’t write two lines of code themselves. Amateurs whose everything breaks and fails every week.

what did it break ? it seems to be running fine for me so far

YOU’RE PLAYING CAMPAIGN, that’s why! People are talking about the real issue and the real game, where the majority of the player base actually is! Damn, this campaign crowd acts like everyone is playing the campaign. It’s just 10 or 20 people replaying it 200 times,

The campaign is probably the most important thing because it sets up the whole franchise and story

Your the one jumping around from thread to thread complaining

If you were really bother by all the things posted in your thread you would have been in the PTR, testing and reporting back instead

hahaha
Let’s focus on what really keeps this game alivebalanced, functioning multiplayernot replays of the same missions.
Fixing a single tree in the campaign doesn’t bring back players. Fixing matchmaking does. Every time people return to check on the game, they leave again because the core multiplayer experience is still a mess.

So yeah, your game works perfectly—for you. Just one problem: that tree in Rexxar’s campaign needs to be fixed. But everything else is perfect, right?
Well, not for the rest of us. So don’t come here and say, “It seems to be running fine for me so far,” because maybe only 10–20 people are playing your campaign 120 times.

Sprenter I’m going to say this in the kind way, you might be right about your suggestion for matchmaking and for timeouts for leavers, but those are things you can suggest in PTR bugs and features, when a patch is in development.

Also you minimize your point when your schizoing out and jumping thread from thread, bringing this up in irrelevant threads were that is not the main topic of discussions.

Relax and give them time and be actively part of the PTR development when it’s in the works. They now have a team working fully in Warcraft 3, help them out by providing your ideas and bugs that you find.

side note don’t be mean and minimize other users happiness for bugs that they cared about that got addressed.

second side not too, fixing a tree is much simpler than applying a penalty system. The foundations first have to be fully functional before adding huge systems like those, and yes as funny as that sounds, the tree is a part of the foundation

Sunzero, I’ve been following this for 5–6 years now, and they won’t fix anything real. Have you seen what they focus on? They only fix small things so people think the game is getting better. But if they actually fixed matchmaking, they’d have to put in a lot more work because the player population would grow again once the main issue is addressed.

I understand that but you have to understand sprenter that for the last 5 years (omg I feel old -_- ) that there wasn’t a team, the few things that got fixed were outsourced, now we do have a actual warcraft 3 team since the 2.0 relaunch, which was last year and it might take time but the game will be fixed. But they first have to get the foundation running again, all these changes will lead to larger changes over time.

You can’t apply massive system changes when even simple things like texture for a tree are not functioning. So give them a chance and be an active part of the PTR when it’s in development, I was reporting bugs here and in the reddit thread week after week for 2.03 and they actually fixed it, their listening. Now is the time to make your voice heard but act rationally and respectful to the devs.

Side note apologies for being rude earlier sprenter

I get what you’re saying, Sunzero, and I respect the effort you’ve put into reporting bugs and helping. But I’ve been around for 5–6 years , and from everything I’ve seen, they’re not seriously trying to fix the core of the game, especially matchmaking and timeouts for leavers.

Let’s be honest: if Blizzard truly wanted to fix these issues, they’ve had two obvious options for years, either do it themselves, or collaborate with the people behind W3Champions, who already built a working ladder system with solid matchmaking.

But they haven’t. Why? Because fixing matchmaking means the population will grow, and if that happens, Blizzard has to commit more resources long-term. Right now, they’re focused on smaller fixes—things like trees, icons, and campaign bugs—because that’s low effort and makes it look like progress.

I’m not trying to be negative, I’m being real. We’ve heard the “foundation first” message before. It’s the same cycle. At some point, we have to stop giving them a free pass and demand they fix what truly matters to most of the player base: multiplayer.

I completely agree with you.
And I want to add: Blizzard has a very limited pool of servers in Europe. They don’t have, say, servers for Eastern Europe, no Russia servers - like W3champions. I’ve only seen two types of European servers. One is somewhere closer to the north, the second is something like central Europe. There are no other options for Europe.

Chinese and Korean servers are unplayable, very high ping, frequent lags and periodic drops.

American servers - in principle, it is possible to play, but the ping can be under 200 ms for Europeans from Eastern Europe.

We need more servers in different locations for a more stable game, so that everyone can enjoy the gameplay.

Can I just say that “updated shaders” look not that good on Classic HD graphics? I mean even simple things like mana fountain effects look broken and dark purple, same with waves on water. It’s just not good, can they reverse shaders? Or at least take them to settings menu, I don’t want to play for my “Hard campaign” portraits in worse looking game

Only real problem I can see is quick cast got broke for some people, which is a significant issue, but I"m honestly just so tired of people screaming doomsday when lots of good things happened just because one bad thing (that probably wasn’t intended) happened.

I’m still waiting for the Reforged Campaign changes that were introduced in 1.33 to be brought back. I don’t get why those got rolled back in the first place.

They got rolled back because it was the mega-hyper-lazy way of fixing the crashes and other things people were complaining about, even though the community itself had actually found and fixed the problem and Blizzard (or more accurately the studio contracted to work on the game at the time) could have easily done that but instead just said “let’s just throw the baby out with the bathwater.”
