Critic on gender diversity in-game

So many of you know already about the gameinformer article, but what was brought to my attention is that they intend to add different genders, warcraft 3 as I’ve stated many other times is my most beloved game during my childhood, and to this date, but I’m not against progress, my particular opinion is that this is not needed(females have always been represented in the game!) , and feels like crossing that line of feeling like a new game but still is not something too destructive, so I’m not against it, but I do have some request/opinions in that regard.

  1. What the post says rather than we gonna include female and male versions of heroes, is “we gonna add more females” , I hope this is not the case, and if you plan on adding females, you do so with males, that’s equality.

  2. You also mentioned it would feel more realistic to add female versions, and this would be half the truth, I hope you add female as long as it makes sense, and you can always take the Witcher’s approach on this, they took some desition based on the time the story is being told, and they still got game of the year.

2.1 while I’d love to see some female, archmage, paladín, and blood mage in skirmish, the games looks like it’s settle in some medieval time, so it would not make sense to have female militia in the humans army, (talking specifically about footmen, knights, dwarf sharpshooters, gryphons), it would make more sense for orcs which already are stated within the lore to fight beside female orcs.

2.2 gender is related to sex, sex is related to procreation, so NO Sex is not Canon when it comes to demons, excepting for the unique case of the succubus and incubus, demons do not need to procreate and for that reason are genderless, so that’s a big NO For female dreadlords, female pitlords, ect. Same goes to ghouls and abominations that again were not created for procreation doesn’t make sense to have a gender, so within the undead it would only make sense, female death knights, female criplords (if you are into that), female lich (again if you’re into that! ).
2.3 night elves could use more female representation, skirmishes are my favorite mode in warcraft 3 and as the game scales, archers and hunters render useless so a typical end game night elf army does not include many females, maybe excepting warden and priestess heroes and dryads, I’d love to see female druids of the claw, and talon! (by the same logic of undead, there shouldn’t be female mountain giants.)
2.4 there shouldn’t be priest of the moon or warden male version that’s obvious, although a dryad version of the groove keeper would be interesting, since dryads are daughter of cenarius wouldn’t be too crazy that some of them had the same powers.

  1. I’d love to see male versions of the undead archer!

  2. Please Blizz make female catapults happen!

  3. Probably the most important point of the post, keep the identity of each army, going back to my first statement, there has always been female representation within the game, adding female versions of units, would rob the identity of night elves, that have always stoop out as an Amazon like army, and since they are my favorite race to play with I would hate to see them getting rob of their identity.

Please no more women in W3. There are more than enough. Who is the genius who thought women in war is cool?..i guess everyone just wanna see how abominations butcher and eat women.

I definitely recall female footmen, priests and archmages from WoW.

In that regard, humans don’t bother me as much as night elves. It is part of their lore that males and females have different roles: women are priests and warriors, males are druid. I could live with male huntresses or female druids but it feels… unnecessary.

Edit: and yes, there will be male version of female heroes. The devs confirmed it.

I literally do not care about these skins, just please, add an option - no, not to disable whether I can see it, they’ll never add it - the option whether I can train the gender-swapped units. Forcing it upon the player without her/his consent would be terrible.

And please, my fellow sexists, do not proclaim that females have no place in mediaeval military setting. You shall be covert in your pronunciations lest the folks of Blizzard see through the web of your words that the only thing that speaks through your fingertips is blind misogyny. Stealth is your friend if you will to succeed. Mwahaha.

More like Banhe King amirite

Women have never had a place in wars throughout history but because feminism is so popular these days, we have to say otherwise just to make women feel that they are strong and independent. I doubt any sane man would like to see women getting disembowelled.

@mishka I genuinely wonder if you are, as I can tell you did not even bother to read the post. @overmind please read the post!
First thing I state is I don’t like this change, and I think it’s not necessary, but this was confirmed by blizzard! So if u can’t against the tie… Join it… @telenil this is not wow, this is warcraft 3,humans didn’t have women in their infantry… And not women during medieval times excepting for very few cases… Were not in the infantry, @adunai,again you are not bothering to read the post… I also stated that this should not happen in cases where its clearly impossible.

lol, idk who that is but you made me laugh out loud.

Barbarians for instance allowed women to fight… They have place in war history, but the medieval castles and knights did not allow them, Jean of arc is a good example of exceptions, same for Mulan (cross dressed) … Not Disney’s one… And also this would go back to my last statement talking about robbing nigh elf vibe, human woman militia would rob night elves of what’s normally on of their army’s characteristics…

Just leave the game as it is. Gender stuff is really unnecessary. Better upgrade what we already have to better quality

Totally agreed, this would be my first thought… The post is really about if they end up adding it… But honestly I wish they go back with that desition… I don’t like it

Ehh guys just to clarify im sure you will only see heroes where you can Change your gender via “Skins” but the Basic Units in it will never be another gender.

Oh…Oh jeez.

You know, I’m starting to wonder how so many people who come on to these forums to make these claims while simultaneously professing a deep love for Warcraft can possibly be so oblivious to the game’s own lore.

Nevermind, you got me.
