I wasn’t sure, so I went to the other games forums to check.
So, they basically gave us the guy who has no clue about the game… I’m not saying anything against this dude, but cmon…

What about the WoW posts?

What do you mean? Nothing, I’m just saying this CM is assigned to WoW project and I really doubt he has a deep understanding of WC3.

Does that really matter? With Blizzards level of communication they could hire an ape as long as it knew how to click new topic ctrl v.

Kaivax is a CM. CM’s are not the keepers of knowledge; the developers are. What was posted on the WoW forums was given to him by the WoW devs to pass along. Those aren’t his words.

Yeahhh… but no  You’re basically saying this guy is useless until someone ask him to do something. I think this job requires attention to details and passion to the game, so you can act in the middle gathering info from both ends, so my point is the following you can’t do that witout at least watching pro streams twice a week fora couple of years.

TIL that you have to watch pro streams for years to send a memo that says “players don’t want global matchmaking”

When it comes to posting on the forums, that is how it works. However, posting isn’t the only duty a CM has, especially higher ranking ones like Kaivax.

That is one of their other duties: collecting feedback into reports to be sent on to the developers. But your showing that he posts on more than one game forum doesn’t preclude his knowledge of any of them.

That’s, unfortunately, how a lot of PR positions work out because you really can’t do a lot outside your boundaries without the people above you signing off on statements.

The problem isn’t Kaivax, the problem is the lack of communication (A Blizzard speciality). If they’re given nothing to say, they don’t have anything to post. Sure they could sit on the forums and reply to random posts, but players don’t want that, they want answers, and if the higher ups haven’t given Kaivax any, then what do you want them to do?

May be you’re right, but I really think this was a fd up thing to do to hire a guy from WoW community to act like WC3 CM

Again, no disrespect to this guy, it’s not his fault.

Where would you like them to have got them from, was there a WC3 CM on the old forums? Maybe the SCR forums?

I would prefer a scammer Pete to show up and do this job

Well it isn’t exactly his job, but a post from the developers that wasn’t lawyer speak posted through a CM would be nice.

This ^^^.

Indeed. For any who have been around the forums for a while, the one thing that is almost always true is when CMs post about something personal (like favorite caster, for example) they get lynched by the community for replying to a benign topic instead of the serious, big issues.

It would be nice to have the devs more vocal here. In SCR, the two main devs directly interacted with the community without CMs in the middle. That’s faded out some over time, but it was great to have during the game’s infancy when so much was uncertain.

CMs job is to not tell customers how they really feel. Then collect all the negativity into file 13 without allowing it to effect their emotional state of being. Then when there is actually news to share, they must deliver it while knowing full well all anger will be directed at them.

You would think that with how big blizzard is they would have at least a FEW employees running each of the forums. Forums is the best damn feed back any company can get.
