COLOR and model OF TREE AND GRASS SURFACE so ugly,and IS TOO GREEN AND COLORFUL!

Blizzard guy please see it:

In 2019 Beta ,the color of reforged tree and grass surface is too green 、rich and colorful!!
It is so ugly!!! And it is like overturning the paint bottle.

Since the overall picture style has become true, why is the color saturation of grass surface and trees so high??
Please change it,make them more beautiful and natural!!Thanks~~

A variety of video images have been published for some time. At present, there is a high voice among players, who think that the reset version is similar to the original version at first sight.
After carefully looking at the various elements of restructuring, I found that the restructuring of units and buildings is very successful, most of them are very good. But the biggest problem is that the quality of the trees and the earth’s surface can’t keep up with the overall quality of the plate, which may be two grades worse.

  1. The first tree model, because this model is basically very realistic, but most of the tree models are very simple, without realism and details, or even the sense of dislocation and vegetation interspersed (compared with StarCraft 2).
  2. Then there are the colors of the trees and the earth’s surface, which are very single and lack of proper decoration. For example, the green color of the grassland and forest is almost unchanged, lacking the realistic and natural gray tone, and also lacking the single terrain decoration (compared with StarCraft 2).
    Because of the above two points, it’s no wonder that some of the pictures look no different from the original, and the root cause is here.
    In fact, as long as the quality of the scenery (trees and ground) can be aligned with that of StarCraft 2, the reset version will give a new and perfect feeling.

You: Please desaturate the color scheme by 50% and put FOG everywhere
Everyone: Please don’t make it more difficult to recognize units in multiplayer…

My guess is that War3R 2018 was running on a modified SC2 engine. Not only colors are different, the amount of fog, the distance and the FOV are also different. If you guy look at the UI is very resemble to the SC2.

We are not blind or colorblind. The reforged version is going to true(such as the unit), so the color and background should be more natural and ture. The first is obviously better! If some old players really like the original version, they’d better not play the remake version.Because the reforged version doesn’t mean anything to them:)

I’m just hoping that the grass looks that ugly in multiplayer only. If they really are removing all the great lighting effects and fog (as shown on the top image) in the campaign stories I’ll be requesting a refund. They’ve already cut tons of stuff they “promised” in 2018 and I’m already on the edge deciding if I want to request a refund or not.

I’m starting to have Warlords of Draenor flashbacks when they cut an absurd amount of content from that World of Warcraft expansion during it’s beta. They could be doing a similar thing with this game.

They are on a really tight schedule right now. They said it will be released before 2020.
I believe there are laws in many EU countries where if a product doesn’t release before or on it’s expected release date you are eligible to a full refund no questions asked.
This might be the main reason they have cut so many things already like new cut scenes, new voice actors etc…

Yes, in our country, many players feel terrible after seeing the new beta image, and they are also explaining the problem to blizzard with the refund action.

Do they have reddit in your country? Check the warcraft 3 thread over there, someone made a much better comparison which actually uses the equivalent tileset. The image above is very misleading.

Then you may complain, eg shaders could still be improved.

The game needs look like the same product as shown in The Culling demo from Blizzcon2018! The 2018 version are so far better :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Some terrains looks like a green neon bright! This is so strange and ugly… To fix that the look for the terrain needs be natural and realistic to match with the realistic models and buildings! Needs look like the 2018 Demo. The 2018 demo is the right way!

I agree dude! The beta colours are actually better than the demo from a multiplayer point of view. For the campaign they are free to put in fog/snow/rain or whatever they want and thats fine!

Main problems with the beta right now (in my opinion) is unit differentiation in battles and performance. And it would be a miracle if they could fix it before release. I hope they delay as much as possible because if the game launches like this then they will have made huge damage to themselves.

I guess it would’ve been much better if they allowed some settings in menu to switch between both looks for if players wanted better looking objects, minimalistic UI, etc or if they wanted more visibility during multiplayer matchups. People need to realize that not everyone is here to play multiplayer competitively instead just have some fun with campaigns and enjoy the lore. It isn’t that hard to respect both sides of opinion and implement these settings but i guess the chain of command couldn’t see past the loyalty of the old multiplayer community and hence are only catering to their biased feedback of ‘better visibility’.

They need create more look options! Already have SD/HD but this game really needs an option to looks the same game shown two years ago in the Blizzcon2018! The modern,beautiful and realistic 2018 demo!

The colours look WASHED OUT, like this beta game was in a washing machine.
The terrain looks neon green, and it looks dead, it should be more alive and more beautiful.
If we look at human buildings most of them are made from stone, but the stone looks very dark grey and pale.

To be honest StarCraft 2 graphics and terrain look both way better of Reforged, plus every single unit and building is immediately recognizable, where on Reforged every blends with the scenery instead

Great summary about the currently problem! I hope in the next update they can be able to bring some improviments to this graphics! This game are urgently needing this improviments to match with everything!

The currently terrain are so very very much green! This is strange! So please change the colors and saturation! Choose the look realistic and natural from the 2018 demo! Will look so much better, thanks!

My refund will depend greatly in the release version having improved this or not.

2018 gameplay trailer & the culling demo are what sold me the game. Now, with worse terrain textures, trees, shadows & shaderw, lightning…its very, very disappointing.

Their lack of communication confirms my concerns…
