can we get classic wc3 like how WoW got classic wow please
No?
Merging both classic and reforged into the same client/server package was the right strategy, but executed ultra poorly. Classic Bnet should have never went down until Reforged became the game it was advertised to be (which would be a couple of years from now, I’d imagine).
RIP warcraft 3
I disagree.
Using Battle.net as a DRM platform and forcing it on everyone who ever bought Warcraft 3 so that they could get away with butchering the game was a poor choice.
I disagree on the basis my 3gb perfect game turned into 30 GB of horse poop
I don’t disagree.
Allow me to elaborate.
If Reforged was as great as classic, this would not only best serve the newer crowd, but it would best serve the classic (and modding) crowd as well, because there would be no logical reason to stay on classic other than being a purist at that point.
In fact, it would then be advantageous to migrate to newer builds to take advantage of new natives, modding limits, etc. The issue… is that Reforged is trash, and cannot serve as a proper replacement.
I think it’s somewhat understandable to plan to cut support for the 17-year old Bnet IF the remaster completely honors the same expectation, but it doesn’t. That’s the real issue that I see, because it benefits the entire War3 community to have everybody in the same playing pool.
With that said, going back to my point, classic Bnet should have been replaced only when the replacement was developed and tested to a point of being as functional or more than the classic experience.
That’s why I said I believe the classic Bnet should have stayed up past “launch” of Reforged. I don’t disagree with you about it being bs.
