Hi!
I just installed WC3 Reforged on my Macbook Pro Mid 2014, Mac OS Mojave 10.15.2.
I successfully started and played the campaign for a bit. Then I played around with different screen resolutions. There were a few resolutions where Warcraft 3 only occupied one quarter of the screen (bottom left corner) and the rest was black. Then I chose a resolution where the complete screen went black. I “force-quit” WC3 at that resolution. This was a mistake, because now when I start WC3, I only see a black screen and don’t hear any sound.
Please help, what can I do to fix this? It worked before!
same thing here, I have a Macbook Pro 16. I’ve uninstalled and re installed the game and it’s not starting. Is there a workaround or a way to reset config? Thanks!
Workaround: erase ‘com.blizzard.WarcraftIII.plist’ on Library/Preferences and it will launch again.
Having the same problem, I can’t adjust the resolution in anyway or the game becomes unplayable on my MacMini. I’m running with an Ultrawide monitor 21:9 which is a supported mode from what I was reading but it doesn’t work.
If you are no longer able to open the game to adjust the game options menu, we will need to change the game options manually. I recommend switching to Window Mode temporarily. Once you are able to launch the game, adjust the game settings in the in-game menu.
Instructions:
Open the Go menu, then click Library
In Library open the Application Support folder
In Application Support, open Blizzard > Warcraft III
In the Warcraft III folder locate the Text Document listed as War3Preferences.txt
Open the document and scroll all the way to the bottom, locate this line: windowmode=2
Change the 2 to a 1 for Windowed Fullscreen or 0 for Windowed mode.
Save the file (not save as, just save) then retry the game
Have the same problem. There is no War3Preferences.txt file in /Users/%my_user%/Library/Application Support/Blizzard/Warcraft III
also tried to clear com.blizzard.WarcraftIII.plist - no result.
Solved:
opened com.blizzard.WarcraftIII.plist in xcode, deleted row about fullscreen,
restarted my mac.
actually, may be only restarting mac will be ok.
