So it seems a foregone conclusion that Blizzard is a shell of its former self, has disappointed its d3, WoW, and now wc3 fans and has begun its fail cascade. Who’s next though?
People seem equally unhappy with the performance of EA, Bethesda, and other AAAs.
I feel like Amazon Game Studios is poised like a smash bro character waiting to blast these other goons off the plane of relevance. Sure, they will probably behave the same as these other guys in a decade, but Amazon seemed perfectly happy to run at a loss for a decade to ensure they built things up well.
IMO I think indie devs are the one that might save the gaming industry, large corps mostly care about profits, and that can sometime alter a game completely in a negative way.
That’s true, I’ve played alot of good indie games but also alot of bad/unfinished ones. They seem to always start with a great concept, but underestimate the required funds and time needed to effectively produce the game.
That’s true, but its the same with major AAA companies as well. I guess all you can do is see the reputation of the company and hope their project managers, dev team, and accountant know what their doing.
