Um… For me, I have been playing this game for 20 years and it is encouraging to see it constantly being “refurbished”. However, in version 2.0, I believe that what truly makes players happy should be the following changes (of course, this is just my personal opinion):
- It is necessary to update the core engine of the game. Based on my years of observation, Warcraft uses no more than 4 cores when running at full speed, and in some relatively older versions, only one core is used. This is the reason why the game feels difficult and even crashes when fighting with a large number of complex units, which is also the core reason of the game.
- Regarding the UI aspect, what I want to say is that the current version 1.36 has done a good job, and there is no need to add complicated menu functions and settings. This will instead introduce more code errors, ultimately leading to endless patches, like chewing gum. You cannot completely get rid of it. Therefore, 2.0 is currently doing well, so don’t add anything more.
- If you really want to make a remastered version of the model, it’s not just about putting a model coat on an old clothes hanger, but also requires a highly recognizable correction. The current model really has low recognition, and there are still many erroneous displays, and even units will become transparent. This really shouldn’t happen to games in 2024.
- We need a responsible server. In fact, Blizzard, you can build a good server yourself that can allow players to enjoy the happiness brought by this game. Players can communicate without barriers and complete a game together. However, I have found that in recent versions, almost all battle options are unavailable or stagnant. Therefore, please fix them in the future, because this is too important for multiplayer battles, rather than relying on other platforms
The above are my suggestions for the future of Warcraft 2.0. Of course, if technical personnel can see them, they are also welcome to discuss with friends in the community
