I’m sad to say it, but I’m leaving WC3.
The Reforged update has completely destroyed the community for my favorite WC3 custom maps. I log on every day and host my favorite maps and sit there for a couple hours while almost nobody joins. Before the update, it was easy to get full lobbies.
Here are the primary reasons the Reforged update killed my community:
- After the update, everyone lost their friends list. And, it’s been exceedingly difficult to reconnect due to different handles and lack of cross-realm communication.
- ~25% of players experience frequent disconnects which ruins the experience on maps that require even teams
- Custom models are broken which makes some maps frustratingly unplayable
Anyways, I’m guessing Blizzard doesn’t give AF, so this is a pointless post. Peace out - it’s been fun!

Which custom game map were you hosting btw if you don’t mind me asking?
Mainly Legends of Dota aka LoD (but not the DBZ map).

Hey man. That stings. In Starcraft 2 there are a few custom maps that are INCREDIBLE and held up by tight knit communities [Zombie Eras for example]
Clans and friend lists glue those customs together and each session is a snowball of buddies asking buddies.
This sucks man. I was really hoping to see the customs take off in reforged. There was certainly endless potential here. But here we are.

Hmm, I really am leaving, so you’re wrong on that point.
And, yes, I guess I am seeking attention in a way. I’d describe it more as seeking connection with others. I feel really sad that I’m leaving and one way to cope with that sadness is to share my loss with others who understand it.
The fact that you’re attempting to shame me for this says a lot about your character.

The fact that you have to come to a forum seeking validation by telling random people on the internet that you’re leaving says a lot about your character. Not only that, you came back to the forums for a game you supposedly quit in hopes of receiving that validation. This point correlates with my implication that you aren’t quitting, you’re just seeking attention. All the while, Blizzard, whom you posted this post for(indicated by the title), hasn’t even read it.
