After dutifully playing through Warcraft I and II, I want to play through the third installment for the third time, just to see how I feel about Warcraft III after the first two installments.
In the German version of Warcraft III Reforged, I hear the original dubbing in the cutscenes of the respective missions. This is also the case with the dialogue that occurs mid-game.
During the cinematic cutscenes (example from the human campaign, where the Prophet, aka Medivh, flies to Lordaeron and speaks with King Terenas) or when I want to control my units in the game, I hear the dubbing from Reforged. I haven’t made any settings for this, and I couldn’t find anything similar there.
What have I already tested?
I’ve already tried the following:
changed the audio language from German to English and back again
scanned the game for corrupted files and had it repaired
updated my graphics card driver (even though this is supposedly irrelevant for the audio files)
reinstalled the game
even changed a setting in “Audio” that says “[L:OPTION-CLASSIC-SOUND]” where, when you hover with the mouse, the description just says “[L-OPTION-CLASSIC-SOUND-TOOLTIP]” and doesn’t change anything in the audio files (just add an _ for - because Discord italics such words)
and of course, contacted customer support
I’m slowly running out of options and I don’t know what else to do about it. In fact, I refuse to even play through the game again in this state because I’d like to hear Regorged’s voice acting for hero characters like Thrall and Arthas, because I simply think it’s better than the original. Does it have this bug too? Or maybe an idea what else I could do?
