The tree textures when trying to use the pre 2.0 Reforged tree and terrain are a texture explosion mess check the final level of TFT. see for yourself. the hackjob fix from the terrain downgrade of 2.0 needs to finish being fixed youre current “use 1.36 trees and terrain toggle” isnt fully functional yet and just shows corrupted textures.
one of the notable examples are the trees native to th e map “a Symphony of Frost and Flame” aka the final TFT Arthas VS Illidan map the trees are entirely Fubar
So, if I’m not mistaken, Activision Blizzard Microsoft likes money.
And, if I’m not mistaken, some of the Warcraft 3 playerbase likes for the game engine to work in all the situations, all the time, in a consistent way.
Is there a point where we could just have:
- Warcraft III: Frozen Throne
- Warcraft III: Reforged (only)
- Warcraft III: AI Remaster
And these could each be like sold separately, so that superfans could just buy all of them, and then they would not need the crossplay? I feel like otherwise, “use 1.36 trees and terrain toggle” doing the trees wrong is going to become some cat-and-mouse. Even if that gets fixed, since Brad doesn’t play on Reforged graphics, what’s next?
This could also be an opportunity to merge the old game back onto the old servers. Obviously since Reforged had issues with forced upgrade, the Diablo 2 Remaster that came after it left behind “Diablo II: Lord of Destruction from 2000” as a product on Battle.net with the old servers still going. Some insider leakers said that it’s impossible to bring back the Warcraft III: Frozen Throne servers in a likewise manner because they were destroyed. But, seriously.
