Fiends can take more damage and have more utility beyond damage, they also have the ability to recvover on their own that rifles don’t have. This justifies their higher cost.
riflemen have more range than fiends.
Only after an upgrade
riflemen attack instantly which makes kiting a joke easy
Once a projectile is released, it will hit the target, even if you TP or the attacking unit dies. The fact that one is instant and the other is not is largely irrelevant.
fiends cant attack air without a 60 second 100/100 upgrade investment
Fiends allow all units to attack those air units, not just themselves
Your comparisons are flawed. You go “but fiends need an upgrade” while ignoring that rifles also need an upgrade in a different comparison you make.
There are other factors to consider as well, as the dependent buildings also play a role. the graveyard which is required for fiends also offers the same functionality as a lumber mill as a lumber dropoff point, whereas the human player needs to build another building for that. Undead bases are simpler as a result and this gets into all sorts of weeds that illustrate how interconnected the balance of everything is.
Fiends have other abilities. Rifleman just rifle !
There were a lot of topics on this matter, you better use search option before opening a new thread!!!
Rifle will remain same as it is now!
I would just increase the gold cost for a rifle by20gold or 10 gold 10wood so it would be at least evenly cost to a fiend. Rifle is better than a fiend any way.
Chaganaga, that’s because you’re viewing fiends in an equivalent role to Riflemen, which is not how they should be compared IMO.
Fiends are mainly a ranged support unit for dealing with fliers, not a frontline ranged dps machine. You use fiends to bring down fliers so you can get in close and screw them up with your melee units. You hide them underground so they don’t get focused cuz they can’t take that many hits - that’s what your aboms are for.
In this forum, the human race has already become so weak that they can’t even compete, so your suggestion to nerf humans is unacceptable. Even if your suggestion is reasonable, it will still be rejected by others. Orcs are already being wiped out by the Paladin + Riflemen strategy, so those who say this strategy shouldn’t be nerfed, give Orcs a strategy to counter the Paladin + Riflemen. If the Blood Mage isn’t going to be nerfed, then Riflemen should be. I think Blizzard’s nerfing is acceptable, but if nerfing the Blood Mage doesn’t solve the problem of Orcs struggling against the Paladin + Riflemen strategy, then they should nerf Riflemen. A brainless strategy that makes one race unable to win, what kind of balance is that?
Its not the Rifleman unit that is too strong on its own.
Its the rest of the human race that is beyond phenomenal at support the Rifleman:
human early expo
general militia usage for creeping and protection
human racial shop at tier 1
arcane tower + durable cheap farms as walls
holy light + devotion aura
siphon mana making other hero spells crazy strong
banish protects or disables or amplifies spells
priest heal + dispel + inner fire
footman Defend gives insane value to a cheap unit
sorceress slow
spellbreakers
And even beyond that you got the usual rest of the Human race that is just amazing 10/10:
Tier 3 Human is pure awesome, Staff of Sanc and Knights and Mortars and even Gryphons if you can afford them.
And even a third lvl 1 MKing or Archmage brings a lvl 1 Bolt/Clap or Brilliance Aura, or a lvl DRanger for Silence.
You can nerf the Rifleman but it will not fix the problem, because the rest of the Human race is keeping the Rifleman strong.
This is not the same as Undead who have DK Lich Statues Destroyers - and literally nothing else.
With Undead you can nerf one of those 4 units and the entire race falls apart, because most of their unit roster is trash in pro 1v1.
