Blizzard, give us enough time to see who we are facing

Please make it so the matchmaking takes at least 8 to 10 seconds before the game starts. This would give us enough time to see the ratings of the players we’re going up against. Right now, the game sometimes starts in just 1 or 2 seconds, which doesn’t give us any chance to prepare or see who we’re facing.

Use F11 to see.

Right, I had loading times of less than 500 miliseconds in the past (requires all players to load fast). While waiting is fine in general, jumping from a 2 minute+ wait into a game immediatelly is not, because you do not just sit there you probably started doing anything minor. Let’s also not forget: Not all modes are played the same amount and not at all times of the day the game is played the same amount, also larger team games require more people, so naturally and at certain times of the day you will want to wait! But right now you basically have to stare at the screen if you do not want to miss the start and the loading screen of course which this topic is about. Also, no, the ingame button does not show all this, the other commenter didn’t read the second sentence it seems.

If you do not stare at screen, particularly in team games it is rather hard to catch any rating (!) or level (!) or profile pic (can matter xD). Imagine just taking a sip of water during the search and you’re already in the game having missed the load and now having to choose between spilling water to quickly gain control or putting it back normally.

I presume a minimum time of ~4 seconds from game found to start via an optional click-any-button-to-start-prematurely - if all agree it will start after ~4 seconds (or ofc the time they clicked between minimum time and autostart time),
and an automatic start-no-matter-what at ~7 seconds. (or 6, or 8)

PCs got way faster than the game was designed for originally, a minor auto-delay with optional quick-start seems appropriate. PS: And fun fact, starcraft 2 got auto-mining later; other than purity (which I respect, but…) there doesn’t seem another reason not to have it.

My friend, I’m talking about rating, not race! ^^

Updating as this is still relevant for 2.0.2.

More important than ever, since computers become faster not slower. And the game didn’t have SSDs in mind when developed.
Would you adapt warcraft 3 reforged to the new standards: We need a small delay before the loading screen concludes to ingame, 5+ seconds if it didn’t already take that long. (ofc exact way and time up to you, 8 sec is also okay(!); it’s about we agree to having something, the details can be decided still)

Otherwise, sometimes from queue-find to ingame it can literally be instant if both have a modern pc. I don’t see this (as it’s not wanted) in any competitive game but wc3.

i use !stats 1-2-3-4 etc to see mmr and it even show wins loses.
