Blizzard did nothing wrong

If you paid any attention to the forums and feedback, a lot of loud people were crying over every little change. They were so loud and overwhelming that the people who wanted changes weren’t heard. Many old players wanted a reskin and thats what they got. If you’re one of those players its your fault that this is what happened. To those who wanted changes maybe you should of been a bit louder? I been playing WC3 classic for over a decade and I can say I highly enjoy this new Warcraft 3 game. I hope a lot more goes into it with future patches.

TLDR: Community messed up not blizz, Game is fantastic!

I’ve been a fan of Blizzard’s work since around the time of their humble beginning. I was in middle-school and high school when I began to play their classics. I’ve defended Blizzard in the past for what I felt was misplaced outrage, but I can’t really defend them this time.

I don’t play around with the custom maps much if at all, so that doesn’t affect me. What annoys me is that I feel I was led to believe the cinematics would be completely redone from scratch. The upscale looks better than the originals, to be sure, but I really thought they were going to remake all of them. Okay, so that would take time, right? I understand that. They shouldn’t have given the implication that they would all be given that special shine that makes these Blizzard cinematics so damn cool.

The game itself is great, though. I’ll agree with you on that much! Some of the character portraits look kinda funky though.

So you wanna say me that current design of bnet lobby and basically flow of how you login there is OK, good ?

What did you play for now because i doub it was classic client…

From UI/GUI view i point out terrible mistakes which they did…

  1. They shrinked all and now you have around “windows” pointless empty space with nice animated background which only takes (somebody…) a lot machine recourses for no reason + you can’t even disable it…
  2. Informations, names in map lobby in custom games are even worse, why ?
  • because they double info
  • using icons for PING which say nothing about what kind of connection you can except…
  • tag names haven’t purpose when i haven’t found any kind of same pair of names… so they could filter it and not let such weird hosting names…
  • it’s all fancy for no reason… it should be search for game when another part of window serve as information about map…
  1. Lobby and chats has terrible handlers that you can’t do almost nothing trough mouse, old systems were pretty much best thing you could get in this kind of lobby… (won’t even mention graphic and design around it…)
  2. You can’t now get any info about player trough client…
  • clans are still disabled + were FOR THIS purged…

– This was only a few imporant parts of MULTIPLAYER side…

Singleplayer part may be better for somebody but quality which they delivered is like alpha version of same game where only “control part of game” is ready…
With current GUI they didn’t even bother divide single and multiplayer parts… - like WTF ?

Now difference between classic and reforged version should be in graphic right ? but do you realize that normal player can’t even have full power around SETTINGS of the game because they didnt manage make “wall” between two graphic packages ? due to this classic players got in many their custom games, or singleplayer part graphic glitches, mistakes, unknow behaviour of animation…

Idk what was so big problem make 2 seperate clients… and merge only servers… you send same info but it render different client part…
It’s like devs dont know about CLIENT - SERVER communication to be honest…

Here you have a few reason why many players are p… off and from reforged part - it’s clear why they are mad… they didnt pay 30€ for this kind of unfinished product…
In industry it doesn’t work like you buy some version of application and trough monts/years you get updates/fix and until then you have keep your nerves with unfinished product…

I agree, i was a bit disappointed with the cinematics not being remastered. Hopefully the promises they decided not to keep because of the feed back will be brought back. As well as those upgraded cinematics in future patches. I feel like Blizzard simply didnt put a lot of man power into the team and they needed more time. So maybe future patches will bring us all the goodies and more.

I absolutely agree! Blizzard did a FANTASTIC job!
I hope they also add microtransaction and maybe even a premium monthly subscription like what Bethesda is doing.

Blizzard did nothing wrong, the community is wrong, we should agree to everything they have done. Hooray Blizzard! God bless you Activision!! <3
Please!! Take all our money!!! <3

Are you on painkillers or something? There should be an explanation to this…

Dude. Silence. It is NOT what we got. We got an half assed reskin. Thats not what we wanted. AT ALL. and the metacritics clearly represents it.
Not to mention the bugs, and other changes that are absolutely disgusting.

Im so sick and tired of companies releasing unfinished products, charging premium and then releasing dlc to make us pay more.

You’re joking about the microtranscations, right? lol

This remaster/remake/reforge/re-whatever is not living up to their full potential, and certainly not what they said they’d do.

What warcraft 3 playable content was cut that you may or may not have to pay for in the future?

Nice try Blizzard employee. Seriously employing people to spin this narrative that community is up to blame is hillarious.

I’m serious about the microtransactions just as Blizztivision is serious about releasing W3 Reforged in a respectable state.

Meh~ they’re gonna add microtransactions sooner or later anyways. Just wait and see.

Not a Blizzard employee, nor any type of employee in any IT related field. I work in the healthcare field but that is irreverent. Its like the classic world of warcraft community all over again. Everytime Blizzard wanted to put something to make it better the community cried so hard and spammed up the forums it intimidated blizzard. Same thing happened to WC3. I enjoy the game highly, custom games are fine, and i’m up to the night elven campaign.

Again this is false, we already know that Blizzard just used the “purists” as an excuse so they could pawn off the games development to some Maylasian company.
Even IF this is true that they rolled back all these changes because the purists we’re so loud, well then Blizzard still royally messed up since now they cant even go back to the classic game and MANY of the features they’ve come to enjoy and expect are missing.

Either way Blizzard -censored- up!

I forgot one thing as active mmo player… You know that with this purge and merging servers your all activity as rpg player in online rpg maps was purged too ?
Thanks this change of our ID (which is our account nicknames)
Another big problem if you consider this part of community…

Taking ownership of custom maps via new WorldEditor EULA is the thing that get me mad. I’ve put a few hundred hours into over the last 5 years or so and now I need 2 installations, one 1.31 where I do development (If I can manage to set it up) and one 1.32 to play online.

Game is great!

I dont think you understand the communities outcries. Changing things, like cutscenes, graphics, VO, isn’t a big deal. I guarantee anyone who is a fan of warcraft 3 doesn’t really care about these things.

Everyone I’ve seen complaining about the problems with reforged are the massive amount of features taken out of the game. Those aren’t changes, those are removals.

That’s literally why we don’t have a lot of the promised features. The #nochanges elitist sobs hated the improvements presented at Blizzcon and they went against every one. Still, Blizzard has no excuse for releasing the game in this state.

I didn’t. I don’t have to. I shouldn’t have to. I should never have to. All their official advertisements and trailers promised a far, far superior product to what was released. And if you want me to believe that a multi-billion company’s plans are so easily swayed by a bunch of people on their official forums, well, sorry, but that ain’t happening.
