all the wait for just new model and UI, they cut the WOW retconned, cut voce actor, cut the 4hour+ reforge scene that they promise all this time, got the money and cut it all and use community as a shield for breaking their promise.

Did you even consider thay maybe if they changed the wc3 lore to fit wow lore they’d automatically give up on making wc4? Let me answer that, no, you didn’t. Because you don’t care about wc4, all you want is to play wc3 with wow story, you don’t look at the bigger picture.
I think they did the right thing in the end. This way it leaves the door open for a new beginning, a new era, a new RTS and hopefully a new story.
You’re not either though. You’re hyperfocusing and splitting hairs about the overall Warcraft story.
wc4 is impossible, they even say they havent think or plan anything for wc4 cuz all of the story is already in wow after wc3 ended.
I just gave my perspective on it. I am not focusing on splitting anything. In the end it’s Blizzard’s decision not to insert wow into wc3, not mine. It’s important to differentiate between rts and mmorpg, otherwise one can easily get to conclusions such as “Oh, it’s the same universe so that means there isn’t really any big differences between rts and mmorpg, so it’s not really a big deal if we just insert the wow lore into wc3”.
But. But that’s been the conclusion forever now. Retcons in the series have been ongoing since Warcraft 2. Stuff that’s explicitly non-canon (or in the movie’s case and its related material - an alternate setting) are few and far between. They inserted “WoW lore” into Warcraft 2 even by way of novelizations. It’s all the same stuff because it’s all in the same series and it’s not new.
Apparently a retcon here means no WC4. Yeah, keep waiting.
I get the frustration you guys have with Blizz and perhaps they should have told the audience a long time ago of their decision, not all the way now when the game is almost finished. Shame on Blizz for that. I totally get your anger in that sense.
I also empathize with all the players who are disappointed and pre-ordered the game and now want a refund, while also being aware of the possibilities that can now exist for the future of the RTS genre.
I think we should also consider that RTS isn’t as popular as other genres. And for the sake of the future this genre alone, I think the decision isn’t all that bad in the end though. It all depends from what angle you look at it.
Things aren’t always black or white. Sometimes things can get grey. Sometimes life throws curve balls. I hope it serves as a good lesson for those who pre-order games.
Reforge obviously meant Remodel…wasnt that obvious? Would you have been happier if they called it Warcraft 3 Remodeled? It’s the same thing lol
