Campaign:
- General: Many Reign of Chaos missions are now much easier than they used to be. If using Frozen Throne mechanics for Reign of Chaos missions was an intentional change, the missions should be rebalanced to compensate.
- A New Power in Lordaeron: The city gates prevent your bases from being attacked from those directions until they’re destroyed, making this level much easier than it should be.
- Brothers in Blood: Why are there high elves in an ancient night elven prison?
- Curse of the Blood Elves: Several blademasters in this campaign are still using Hellscream’s model, which seems inappropriate given that Reforged (mostly) tries to ensure that its major characters have unique appearances.
- Old Hatreds: This mission does not award credit for completing it.
- Terror of the Tides: Several sea witches in this campaign are using the Lady Vashj model.
- The Brothers Stormrage: Several death knights appear in this mission who look exactly like Arthas, Frostmourne and all.
- The Dungeons of Dalaran: All of the ghostly archmagi in this level, not just the ghost of Antonidas, are using a spectral version of the Antonidas model (rather than of a spectral version of the generic archmage model).
- The Flight from Lordaeron: The two necromancers who accompany Kel’Thuzad in the opening cutscene are using the Kel’Thuzad necromancer model instead of generic necromancer models (but they appear as generic necromancers in-game and during the ending cutscene).
- To Tame a Land: The Kul Tiran swordsmen who take part in the ambush at Razor Hill look like high elves. They should use the human captain model.
- Twilight of the Gods: The attack waves sent by the enemy forces never reach the level of intensity they did in the original game, making the new version of this level feel somewhat anticlimactic.
Models:
- Anetheron: In both “The Dreadlords Convene” and “Twilight of the Gods”, Anetheron appears as an orange version of Detheroc. Anetheron should use the generic dreadlord model instead, since none of the other important dreadlords are using it.
- Arthas Menethil: Why do Arthas’s eyes turn white after he picks up Frostmourne? In other sources, they remain blue (or green, or blue-green) even after he becomes a death knight.
- Chen Stormstout: Chen’s hat shows the battle damage it sustained in the Mists of Pandaria cinematic, but that took place years after Warcraft III.
- Dalvengyr: Dalvengyr is currently using the default dreadlord model instead of the Dalvengyr model.
- Death Knight (Female): The runeblades used by female death knights have no runes on them.
- Death Knight & Demon Hunter: We still need models for generic male death knights and demon hunters. I’m not opposed to having Arthas or Illidan (or other campaign heroes) appear in multiplayer games, either by toggling them on in the collection or having them randomly show up in place of their generic counterparts, but they should use the proper names and voice lines.
- Gavinrad the Dire: While the dark hair and bushy beard of the Nicolas Buzan model are appropriate for Gavinrad, the sword is not. The Rise of the Lich King novel has Gavinrad say that the hammer is the weapon of a paladin, and that’s what he uses to fight Arthas.
- Grom Hellscream: Grom should have a black tattoo covering his entire lower jaw. This feature was mentioned in several sources, and it’s why his son Garrosh decided to get the same sort of tattoo. The Grommash in Warlords of Draenor only had a partial chin tattoo, but that was a younger version of the character from an alternate timeline.
- Lady Vashj: Naga should not have visible ears (and if they did, they’d presumably look like elven ears rather than human ones).
- Malfurion Stormrage: Malfurion is supposed to walk around in the Reign of Chaos campaign and ride a stag in the Frozen Throne campaign, but he’s currently mounted in both campaigns (even though his movement speed is lower in the former, since he’s supposed to be on foot there).
- Medivh: As we can see when he visits King Terenas, the gem on Medivh’s chest should be red, not blue.
- Mephistroth: In “The Dreadlords Convene”, Mephistroth uses the Varimathras model with the generic dreadlord portrait. He should use the Dalvengyr model (and portrait) instead, since Dalvengyr only appears in one level and has no dialogue.
- Nerubian Spiderlord: Spiderlords are meant to be the living equivalents of the undead crypt lords, so they should be beetle-type nerubians, not spider-type nerubians.
Icons & Portraits:
- A Blaze of Glory: The “Last Admiral” quest icon depicts a generic paladin, not Admiral Proudmoore.
- Carrion Swarm: If the spell releases a wave of bats, why does the icon still depict insects?
- Old Hatreds: The “Infiltrate Theramore” quest icon depicts a generic black-bearded blademaster, instead of the white-bearded Samuro.
- Prince Kael’thas: The Kael’thas portrait in the collection depicts a generic, white-haired blood mage, not Kael.
Team Colors:
- Illidan Stormrage: Illidan’s green tattoos have become an iconic part of his look… but in Reforged they’re treated as team color sections, and after his initial appearance he’s always on a blue, purple, or red team. Give him a fixed team color (like dark green) regardless of which army he’s working with (in the same way Varimathras is red despite being on Sylvanas’s blue team), or make a version of his model with tattoos that aren’t team colored.
- Night Elves: The night elves are associated with teal (as seen on menu screens and promotional images), but in the campaign their team color is usually blue. They might look better in teal (or a lighter blue).
- Rexxar & Friends: Rexxar is usually depicted as wearing red (as we can see on the menu screen for his campaign), but in-game his team is blue (because Thrall and the Horde are using red). Now that we have more colors available, it might be reasonable to set Rexxar and his companions to maroon.
- Varimathras: In Warcraft III, Balnazzar is purple and Varimathras is red… but in World of Warcraft, Balnazzar is red and Varimathras is purple. Consider having those two (and their respective bases) swap colors.
Other:
- Admiral Proudmoore: Why is his class still “Paladin” and not something like “Lord Admiral”?
- A Long Time Coming: The battle between Arthas and Illidan was actually better in the original game. The new version has poor pacing, weightless attacks, bizarre choreography, and no music. A more faithful recreation of the original scene (with new models, but the original movements, sound effects, and music) would be a step up from the version we have now.
- Captains: The captains serving Arthas often have names (like “Captain Falric”) when selected in-game, but in most cases their names are only given as “Captain” when they speak during cutscenes.
- Centaur: Many centaur in the campaign are incorrectly classified as tauren.
- Crypt Lord: The crypt lord still has his “And they say Blizzard games don’t have bugs” joke. That is clearly no longer appropriate.
- Death Knight (Female): Some female death knights are using the title of “dutchess”, which should be spelled “duchess”.
- Corpse of Gul’dan: The doodad for Gul’dan’s long-dead corpse still has a skull. By the time Maiev comes across his remains, his head should be long gone.
- Kaz’rogal: Just as Meathook and Salramm were added to the “Culling” mission, Kaz’rogal should appear during the “Twilight of the Gods” mission.
