There are widespread complaints in FFA community that updates have made orc too strong. Certain late-game army changes have affected FFA much more than they affected 1v1.
- Helm of valor and similar items going from +4 to +5. Blademaster can get 3-5 of these, especially if there’s market on the map.
- Mirror image doing damage and being cheaper
- Tauren totem being buildable at tier 2
- Taurens having resistance skin
- Taurens starting with lesser pulverize
- Orc great hall providing +1 food
- Orc great hall being built faster
- Wind riders giving less XP
- Headhunters/Berzerkers having +100 range
- Bladestorm dealing +30 damage per second and having a much shorter cooldown.
Maybe some nerfs to other races have made the overall race balance of 100 vs 100 food late game armies different as well? Most notable nerfs to human were tank going from 3 to 4 food and Carrion Swarm being able to hit mechanical units (making UD vs Human much easier for UD in 100 food situations).
I play orc in FFA myself, always have played but this feels a bit too strong right now. Perhaps something can be tuned back without ruining 1v1?
If you don’t think it’s a problem, please take a look at the FFA wins statistics per race and I’m sure you’ll see a surge of orc wins. Or maybe not? Either way would be interesting to look at the stats on all skill levels in FFA per race.
