Add profiles

I simply want to be able to click someone’s name and have the stats/bio displayed like every single Bnet game before SC2. Statistics are ultra important to me, and the profile screen made it personal. Anyone else on board with this? Win/Loss per race was a great feature in WC3. Same with /stats in game. There’s really nothing wrong with that. I would really advocate for keeping this game the same. It worked for 18 years for a reason.

Current competitive season stats should display by default. I would agree with that. If you’re playing competitively, you live and die by your performance and others should be able to see where you stand. Furthermore, current stats are more accurately reflective of someone’s current performance than their all-time stats.

However I would prefer non-competitive stats to be hidden by default and displayable only at the option of the player. It’s kind of a personal peeve of mine that in some games you can essentially “screw up” your permanent record by just playing the game.

Bottom line is players should not feel permanently penalized for playing a game. If a player wants to just play a race he’s bad at casually for a few weeks, for example, he should feel free to do so without worrying he’s going to permanently scar his account.

That’s why you practice, no? But yes, why not just have an option to hide stats. Profiles need to be in the game.

Agrees. I have a thread about it here if you’re interested and would like to read:

I just think it needs to be an option to personalize your account, if you want to hide stats you can hide stats. It’s as easy as that.

whats the matter here u want have an profile in a beta ? i can see u want 2 see ur performance but why the F u need it in a beta … especially in a phase where not to many experienced players playing the beta @ all u got ur icons to grind should be enough till release. u gonna have ur stats than …

Hey buddy, it’s not going to be in the game. It wasn’t in starcraft2. I could not click a player and see their win rate, races, anything. That needs to be back in the game. Blizzard hides stats from everybody to create an “even playing field” which really doesn’t even matter on a menu in a game. Their matchmaking system takes care of the even playing field. All this inclusiveness now a days, just give us an option to hide the stats if we don’t want them to be shown to other players. Calm down buck, as of now, NO stats will be in W3R.

If they plan on making profiles available on release (which is probably the case because we previously had the option to ‘‘View’’ someone’s profile even though it didn’t work) it would be a good idea to introduce them in the beta in order to fix the bugs from these profiles if there are any.

i’m surprised they didn’t release profiles at the start either. like there’s 0 reason they couldn’t have implemented this lol…

I played Warforged (ROC beta) and the beta was a lot more smoothe than this one. that was over 16 years ago.

Yeah, I know it’s not smooth, but I honestly think the lack of profiles in SC2, for example, was this new “inclusiveness” in society. Where we can’t hurt peoples feelings by simply being better than one another. Add stats, make them hidable.

hideable stats don’t do much either…it’s really easy to gauge skill in rts games…this isn’t wow or hearthstone - in fact i’d say SC2 went a step further in revealing more about player stats than ever before with the transparent MMR function.

I personally think RTS games like war3 especially kinda weed out the weak at heart pretty easily. if you’re bad you’re bad and it’s obvious you’re bad. you can’t hide from your skill in this game…

i love my stats, because they’re good - but even if they went away, the skill will be way too obvious…i personally just want to keep them because it’s a good way to keep track of numbers and being a math nerd…i like numbers lol
